Hi,

I don't see any problem in PF 3bet. And yea I don't like shove eather.

To know what to do on that flop when opponent c/shove, u need to know what kind of opponent is he. if he is loose/aggro, then yea u can call him off, because he have tons of worse Ax hands and draws. If opponent is nitty, then I rather fold, because he's range is too strong. Consist mainly of 2 pairs, sets and strong Ax, where u are ahead of only AJ and A9 if he is doing that with this hand.

GL at tables!

Opponent is quite agro , new ish on table played almost half of his hands ....was 10ish BB less stack than me, here he covers me we both have same bounties .So much for opponent.
By flating the 3bet we can pretty much cap his his range and most of time the check/shove is gonna be draws and lower aces, we ve got a blocker too for the QJ combos and still think call off is mandatory. Most of sets and two pair here would be stack off preflop for him except nine KT combos which is quite marginal and even then we ve got our outs.

thing is that the more I look the hand now ,the more I like shoving pre :f_biggrin:

3bet seems alright against a CO open, but 2k is more than enough in position.
As played you beat only a bluff on the flop and he could easy have 2 pair and you beat only AJ I think.

Cheers,

what if hero checks flop and face a bet? Most of the time you have to make a decision for the rest of his stack there. If you call you have to call a turn bet. Folding feels rather weak imo.

# maniac -u r IP here :f_drink: there will be no bet to face... u 'll be checking back ... :f_drink:
u dont want to be checking back AQ on such boards :f_drink:

I still disagree that his range will be strong on this board often, as played, cuz it will be a shove preflop ....we hold queen too for that strait ....sometimes he will be on holdings like KT or the AT(wich we block to 6 combos too), once in a blue moon we ll run on tens (wich he should shove pre too concidering he covers me and my bounty is nice too)...most of times i see only draws and weeker aces here.

3bet pre is fine and pretty standard play. After all BUvsCO is perhaps best spot in general for light 3bets. Sizing wise I like one hero used as with antes in 9handed going for 2k is too small imo. You want to use sizing where calling is not too nice option for villain so your 3bets will create decent fold equity.

Flop is obviously great for our range and in general preflop call will somewhat cap villain range. AK and big pockets are less likely. Though if villain is good and expects hero to have light 3bets then he should sometimes slowplay preflop with AA, KK. But just calling with AK or 88-QQ combos is pretty awkward line as those hands will relatively often miss or face 1-2 overcards on flops.

Villain could have some AT-AQ, broadway hands more often especially suited. Maybe some T9s, J9s also. But tough to say if villain is more unknown but in general you want postflop playability to call preflop. Some weaker Ax than AT are pretty crappy as an example.

Flop cbet is fine as long as we do it with plan to stack off. Otherwise check is way better. It will also balance times we have some Kx, QT, QQ, JJ we might not want to cbet either. Cbet size is pretty huge as with shallow stacks we have and our range advantage around 2k is enough. That way we are less committed versus shove and if villain call we have 7.5k behind in 10k pot. Meaning we can still expect fold equity for second barrel. Now if villain continue versus flop bet he has to go with idea to play for stacks. So smaller cbet is simply more effective overall for us.

Now as played we need around 25% equity to call shove. So form range for villain and see if you get enough or not. I would give him good amount of AT-AQ combos, 2 combos of set for occasional slowplay or passive play with TT, QJs, KTs, KhQh, KhJh and Jh9h. Those form pretty solid range. Could we add hands like KQs, KJs, A9s? Is villain willing to fold those with bounty as bonus?

But anyway use flopzilla, equilab etc. to check equity. E.g. start from worst case scenario and go from there. If you don't get enough equity try to widen range and find where you have enough and if range is reasonable or not. Want to be careful in general as it's easy to get lot of decisions seem good by adding few more "maybe" hands :)

Just jam pre, you'll have like 1 pot sized bet behind with this preflop size. Polarize your non-all-in 3 bet range more, towards AQs+ KK+, and bluffs like Axo, K8s etc.

As played, don't go this big with your cbet-size, you've got the worse hands like KQ, KJ, Ax, AJ almost drawing dead.
