Building a Video Poker Bankroll to use on PokerStars later on! :)

My first plan is to get to a $2,500 bankroll balance so I will have 10,000 bets in hand at the 25c limits and then move up!

Here's my plan:

Want to know how I play? I will tell you :)

1. use the 'double' feature when hitting trips, straights, flushes, full houses or quads. do not double up with jacks or better or 2 pair as it is not worth the risk as you will have to double so many times to make a good profit.

2. double up to over $10 profit! that way you WILL make a lot of money at video poker.

3. pick the same card when using the 'double' feature - variance will level itself out in the long run and you will go on a lucky streak of doubling up 4-5 times to make big profits :)

4. when faced with 2-3 cards jacks or better and 1 pair lower than jacks - eg. AQ 55 / AKQ 55,
hold the AQ / AKQ, as you are more likely to hit jacks or better than a set

5. take more risks with the 'double' feature when you are down for the session. that way you should be able to get back into the black eventually.

Got any further questions? Feel free to ask :)

Isn't this pretty much a duplicate of your earlier blog?

One is enough, I believe.

Are you sure that Online Video Poker is beatable?
I have you did the math?
I know in Las Vegas there are some machines where you can really play profitable if you play 100% GTO. There are online Calculator´s so playing GTO on these machines is super easy.

I guess online its only beatable if you have a bonus for these games.

But I´m pretty interested if your plan works. Keep this blog up. :f_drink:

Cheers for the support buddy. Most people oppose my idea, but I am willing to do anything to be successful in life.

Had 4/4 winning sessions so far, so I’m doing something right. According to my excel spreadsheet, I’m making just under $40/hr. If I crunch the numbers and I keep up that hourly rate, playing 45 hours every 10 days will net me $1,800 and I will be at my next target of $5000 in about 30 days where I will go up stakes from 25c to 50c.

The probability of winning 4 out of 4 coinflips is 6.25% - not negligible.

4 Sessions is 0 sample size .... and your text sounds like that you have no clue what you are doing there. I´m pretty sure that you didnt have made the math and you also dont know how to do the math for video poker AND im also pretty sure that you dont know how to play 100% optimal in video poker. But okay thats just my opinion I will follow this thread and I hope that you will be successful. Good Luck.

Well my winning sessions are 100% at the moment. I think I’ve got the game mastered. If you couldn’t double up your winnings you probably wouldn’t make a big profit though

Stay focused & you’ll succeed.

If others think you’re crazy, you’re probably on the right track.

Do not listen to the naysayers. they do not control how you live your life, YOU do.

I want to start a business in 6 months time and I need about $2,000 to start it up with. If I make 2K in 6 months at Video Poker, i'll be a happy man. Made $280 profit in the 1st 4 days. Let's see how the next 4 days goes...

By the way, in case some of you don't understand how "doubling goes", let me explain this to you.

I'm not doubling up how much I invest in a hand. That stays at 25c and it will remain that way until I get to $5K. Then i'll move up to 50c (10,000 bets in hand). I read online about bankroll management for Video poker and i'm pretty much on the right track here.

If you guys have watched my videos in this thread, you would of noticed how "doubling" works. I'm trying to double my winnings, NOT how much i invested in each hand. I usually try to double 3-4 times until i've got at least $10 in winnings, then I will collect. If i'm down for the session I may even double more, but generally that hasn't been a problem.

A day off for me today video poker wise. Will be playing 3 sessions on Monday NZT.

Get a job and work 1 month and then you have your $2000.

Btw. maybe this is interesting for you:

This is the author:

But I don´t know if it is really possible to beat these games online. I guess there are mostly only strategys where you can lower the house edge but I guess mostly the house will still have an edge so that you will lose money in long run if you dont have any bonus stuff running.

Don't believe affiliates who claim that they've discovered a winning casino strategy. They have no incentive to tell the full truth, as the commission that a casino pays to an affiliate is calculated as a percentage of the total net loss of the referred customers*, and thus affiliates aren't interested in teaching how to beat a casino, they're only interested in persuading players by any means to sign up through them. Honest affiliates may say that casino games are fun but will warn that this fun costs money.

* unlike commissions to poker affiliates like Pokerstrategy that are often calculated as a percentage of the net rake paid and allow to profit from referring consistent winners.

Exactly!

I consider casino bonus abuse the least intellectual and least profitable kind of professional gambling. With a $3K bankroll, one can earn ~$1 expected value per hour with casino abuse... or beat $15 Spin & Gos for ~$15 EV per hour _wink: One can earn $2 EV per hour even with a $50 (!!) roll by multitabling $1 games. (The rate of return drops dramatically as the roll grows because higher stake games are increasingly tougher, but is still bigger than at other gambling.)

With a net worth up to $50K-100K, poker is more profitable than casino abuse. With a higher net worth, value investing is usually more profitable per hour than either (unless one is in the top 0.1% by poker skill), in the sense that spending a couple of hundred hours per year researching stocks pays off better than playing poker or casino games at those hours.
