BANK ROLL CHALLENGE WEEK 4 & 5

Word of the Day

pamphleteer

Definition 1 : to write and publish pamphlets
2 : to engage in partisan arguments indirectly in writings

Once again I have been very busy getting work done with my degree leaving very little time for much else. The last two weeks have been somewhat a bit of a nightmare after such a good first few weeks back on the bankroll challenge.
It certainly does swing in roundabouts and the best part of the last week has been devastating
Overall I am now down $70 on my last report succumbing to nearly every premium hand being beaten by very junky hands or river action. Although this is annoying I am carrying on and not letting this hiccup tilt me :f_cool:
I do know that I am on my A game and finding the slight adjustments working overall, but areas I must continue to work on are, pre-emptive folding on the BB, SB and BU. Also I must start trying to extract more value out of spots where I know that taking down the pot is possible. Passive play is no more an option as I am loosing value here too.

Overall being down I feel like I am still plus EV and not tilting is a really positive position regardless of the hard times.
My stream is starting to gain momentum and I am close to 50 followers along with other goals to become an affiliate on twitch :f_drink: Over the next month I will be finishing off the new graphics and look for my stream and new identity. So far they are coming along nicely. For example I have just finished the text animations like the new follower text below :f_biggrin:

Hands of the last two weeks
One of my better hands. The only one tbh :f_p: But a pair of aces can still go wrong !

Overall a lot of fun had in the last few weeks :)

University work has started to really pile on too in the last few weeks and lots of exams and written assessments have been done and still need to be done in the next few months. Just got my results back on my IT exam and scored 100% :f_drink: Hopefully I can continue this trend for the rest of the work to come. In the last week I have really found the work load ramping up especially in the maths department :f_mad: I am awaiting my results for my first maths exam which hopefully will be in this week and fingers crossed I have managed to achieve 90% or more.

I will endeavour to update more often rather than leaving it for such a long period. But until next time, good luck to you all at the tables and happy Halloween :f_drink:

So it has been another long old day with out a sniff of poker today :f_frown:
For about 10 hours a day I have been working on finishing my IT and Maths degree assessment work.
So far I have got 100% on my first IT exam and today got the results in for my Maths exam scoring 90%. What let me down in the exam was mistaking my significant numbers for decimal places
Luckily the exam only counts for 2% of my overall marks.
Today and for the next few days I will be working on my Maths assessment which is due in 10 days time and getting the good mathematical communication parts right is extreamly important and constitute for 80% of the marks. Why can't I just tell you the result? Why must I have to write massive amounts of explanations lol.

Hopefully if I get the papers done in the next few days I might stream a few tournament on a day off.
But until then good luck to everyone at the tables and I look forward to reading how you get on.

All work and no play!

Well the last few months have been a complete nightmare with very little time for poker.
I thought that there would be a few hours a week for poker if I am working and studying full time. But this seems not to be the case!
Sadly, I haven't been able to keep up with my bank roll challenge or catch up with everyone.
Currently I am sitting here trying to win the Sunday Million on stars after losing my temper with equations and inequalities and hitting a $13.50 satellite and winning a seat into the half price beast of a tourney which I am streaming now
Last week I had my best attempt at the daily dollar rebuy and finished in 11th place after being in the lead and watching for some time people swap chips before the FT bubble. But I can not complain as I walked away with $27 and only paid $2 in total!
Work wise I have made some mark up on a lens I bought for £200 and sold for £1000 which in turn I have managed to buy a new workbench and flashy office chairs along with more lenses to sell!

Study wise and to my amazement I managed to get 97% for my last Maths exam! It was a nightmare and had me up for most nights. Equations are my pet hate and for the next few months this is going to be the theme of my days.
Along with Robotics, Networking and expanding algebra and quadratics and copious exams, the next few months is going to be very interesting and tiering.
How poker is going to fit into all of this I can’t tell at this moment. All I do know is that I must find time during the week to at least sit down, play a few games and keep up with everyone’s blogs.

So, for now I hope wish you all the best of luck at the tables

After a promising start to the Sunday Million I soon ran into a dead game where I finally after surviving past late reg ran out of chips short of the cash :(

But never mind. There is always tomorrow!
My plan is to try another satellite and hopefully get a second go :)
The week has been another long old week with work and study. At least my maths results have arrived. I scored high but failed on one question. I am still waiting for more results, and as ever taking more exams all the time.
The month coming is equally as busy and I only have 4 days planned off. On one of those days I aim to do a stream and grind some cash tables :f_drink:

Hopefully everyone is having luck at the tables :f_biggrin:

Word of the Day

smithereens

Definition 1 :fragments, bits

Once again life has become a bit hectic during the past few months and getting the time to sit down and play a game of poker is far and few between.
On the upside my studies are coming along nicely in all areas. So far I have been achieving distinctions in all areas and with the final exams coming up I hope to continue this trend.
Hopefully by the end of May I can sit down properly and stream a few sessions in my down time. With the big Sunday million coming up in April I am also aiming to try and get into this game from a satellite. Fingers crossed I get the chance to have another stab at this without failing right near the bubble.
I did get the chance to play some hands on GG and had this nice little pair. :f_tongue:

I won't leave it so long to do an update and GL at the tables :f_thumbsup:

No Sunday Milly for me today :f_frown:

Over the past few weeks I have tried a few of the freerolls to get into this awesome tourney, and got very close to the final ticket! Yesterday to my detriment I opted to grind these satellites rather than work on my maths exam and the many parabolia related questions :fouet:
In total I managed to win 3 lots of $15 tickets, then frustratingly lost near the bubble each time :pcuser:
So today I have my last $1.10 ticket to try again. Should I fail, then the very best of luck to anyone who has entered the game. :f_drink:

Looking Ahead

After depositing £10 on partypoker for a free bonus $22 ticket I ran into bad luck with AA vs the mighty 5To, of course I lost!
My plan for party poker is to see how far I can make my £10 go. So far I have played a Sunday Terminator phase 1 and managed to get into the 2nd phase. Just one more phase to go and hopefully I can turn $1.10 into a lot more :)

On Stars Scoop is just around the corner and with that in mind I am going to start early and try to get into the phase games in the series, maybe play a few of the main games too.

Across the board in all the rooms I am very low on bankroll and hopefully I can change this for once and create a decend bankroll to grind cash with once again.

Studied are coming along nicely, though I have very little time for poker I do have one table on the side while studying
Tomorrow I may stream my Sunday games and if this is the case I shall post the set of games and suggestions for tunes are more than welcome.

Good luck at the tables

Been a while since I last updated my blog :fouet:
So, a quick update :sifflote:For the last year university work has taken up 99% of my time with the crazy amounts of modules running at the same time. Saying that I have managed to get the occasional game in here and there. Mostly unsucessful, but recently I have in the last few weeks managed to FT and come 2nd in one game on GG ($1 rebuy) Along with a couple of cashes in the Micro Millions on stars. For the first time I managed to KO a few people in the $5.50 and take $10 before crashing out just before the bubble. As per norm with the PROGS, I either make KO or none at all and cash. Never together!
Moving forward, my plan is to really give poker the go I needed to for a while now. I am planning on starting a new blog of my 'once again into the void' attempt and concerntrate on key issues with my health and game. I know if my physical health is top notch, in turn I will be able to apply a better game yeilding results.

Therefore the plan is to first get fit, and second go over the basics and third apply and get results!
During the last year I have also tried to get to grips with streaming, and setting my my channel. So on 28th I will be streaming an all day grind, playing the rest of that days MM games and the main event. Also have a little gamble on the side for fun with monopoly.

Today is a good day! Finally got some results in for my final maths score. The paper I scored 99% for the second time during this course. The overall final results for this course was 91% Meaning that I have achieved a distinction xD
Currently the remainder of the year is Python and Linux. With only 3 more exams to go I will completely finish this year around September 13th, leaving a couple of days off before the second year starts! :mdr: Bit of educational grind tbh for the next 12 months.

Good luck at the tables :)

Finally after a 21-month solid grind studying, I have time to sit back put my feet up and get back into poker. This time rather than depositing a bunch of cash into the rooms, I am going to try once again to apply myself to all the regimes’ that contribute to a successful +EV game. No half-arsed attempt, cutting corners and all that shenanigans.

Last time I grinded cash tables was NL FR. This time while I have 4 months off, I’m going to join the trend and grind 6-Max, starting from the bottom run of the ladder NL 2/4 and hopefully reaching a modest goal of NL 10/20. My challenge is to build the bankroll from a meagre €40 (ten buy ins) by using a skimming technique and playing tight. The overall goal is to have 100 buy ins by the end of the next few months.

This means a complete overall of my acquired bad habits on and off the table. My plan is to stream my progress three days a week in the evenings (gmt), Wednesday and Friday cash and Sunday tournaments. Before this I will be creating a plan of action to succeed that includes a rewrite of my diet, training, exercise and sleep patterns. Previous attempts failed as I took on too much too soon, and this won’t be the case this time around!

I am going to fully update my blog each Monday and post interesting spots in between these updates. Until then, you can catch me on my stream staring around 7pm gmt.

Good luck at the tables
