Should Know Better to Pay Flush

I am annoyed with my River play. When facing a flush scare, I try to play for a small pot. I may have top pair-top kicker, but will fold to a 30 big blind bet because I do not want to pay to an obvious flush possibility. So, it feels stupid for me to raise the River with a Straight when I knew a flush was possible. I lost 25 big blinds by not simply calling the 10 big blind River bet. How do others play their big hands against flush scares?

Forget overlimping preflop, you have a perfect hand to isolate UTG.

It is better to fold on the turn with two overs and a possible flush already.

On the river what do you think will call your raise which is weaker in this river?

We surely dont have a value raise on the river, and againt the reraise it is a clear fold, because villain will not make this action without a flush.

Thanks for chastising me. I deserve it. What a silly river raise and call of a re-raise. However, the Turn call does not bother me because it is only for 3 big bets. I know that I will be admonished. But, I am having a better win rate by limping than by raising or open-raising. I am going to continue my limping strategy for a while.

Definitely raise pre.
As played I'd prefer a small raise on the flop, 0.4$. I think calling is too weak and gives the other guy a chance to peel with 2 overs which we want to deny.
As played, call call. Wont comment on the raise :f_biggrin:
