I did it! Got a Royal Flush playing video poker! Here is the proof! Only a $2.50 payout tho for a 1c bet. I have hit about 20 4 of a kind, 1 straight flush and now one royal flush. Not bad at all

If you are interested in making money at video poker, I suggest that you have a look at the vid! Was by far my best ever performance! I think it was a combination of luck and solid play in my honest opinion!

What have I changed over the last month?

Only doubling 3 times maximum I have found that doubling 3 times is the sweet spot and trying to double more than 3 times will just lose you money.

Not chasing losses If you finish a 90 minute session and you are down, finish it. In the past I had played for hours trying to chase my loses. Never again will I do this!

Sorry for the lack of audio in the video. I just realised that my microphone USB cable is not working anymore. Will have to wait 2-3 weeks to get the money together to replace it.

Not playing in the $7.50 $200 GTD Razz tournament at 5.15am NZT this weekend. I haven't been able to change my sleeping patterns, as currently i've been getting up at 10am in the morning.

Next week, I will have to get up earlier though, as i'm starting a job training course 9-3pm, so will aim to get up at 4.30am then to play video poker for 90 mins in the morning from 5-6.30am, so I can wake up NEXT WEEKEND for the Razz!

Update: Not playing video poker anymore. Why? Because the variance is too much for me to stomach. You really need 10,000 buy ins to be able to survive, and i couldn't afford $100 to buy into the 1c level. So I think I will quit video poker for good and only play it if Golden Tiger Casino gives me another bonus lol.

On to the good news, my plans have changed. Since i'm no longer playing video poker, i've decided to pick up PLO cash games. I'll only have $15.18 to play with at the 1c/2c stakes, so i'll have to be careful not to go broke. I read online that you need a larger bankroll than NLHE, so I will work towards that. Also I watched how players were playing PLO at the 1c/2c stakes and have realised that they will play with any 4 cards. So i've just got to play tight aggressive to build a bankroll.

Also I will still play the Razz tournament at 5.13am on Saturdays and Sundays. The goal is to make a $55 profit a week, to buy me into the $55 Daily Marathon NLHE tournament. So I will play the NLHE tournament on Sundays at 1.30am and only play the Razz at 5.13am on Sundays if i'm busto by then. Also I will only play PLO cash games starting at 10am on Sundays if i'm busto in the NLHE by then too.

By the way guys, I'm postponing my poker goals for 2-3 months. I need to get a full time job THEN I will re-focus my goals towards getting 1st in the $55 Sunday Marathon by the end of 2019. So this thread will go dormant for 2-3 months, then it will pick up again. No more threads will be created like I did in the past. Don't want to piss the mods off!

I think I will do 8 game mix on PokerStars and to make $55 a week profit at 8 game and use that profit to play the $55 Daily Marathon on my 2nd day off from work. But only after I have got a job, which will hopefully happen in the next few weeks, because my CV and cover letter is pretty good.

Just started a new job, so i'm well on my way to achieving financial independence.

Although my goal with poker is to make $55 per week profit in the 8 game mix and use that money to play the $55 Daily Marathon that I came 76th in 4 months ago. (I was the chip leader at one point too, but my ego, cockyness and loss of concentration got the better of me).

Decided I am going to play 8 game mix, 20c/40c cash games, starting today.

I'll play 2 hour sessions followed by an hour editing my streamed videos and posting them on you tube, twitter and the various poker forums I partake in. Unfortunately, I cannot upload videos to my twitch channel until I am an affiliate there. After the vids are posted, i'll have an hour break.

I just started a new job, ringing up businesses asking for donations for charity. The charity is for special needs kids and I know how they are like and how their life is, because I have a brother with special needs. I only made $20 this week. I'll be working 32 hours a week and I only get paid on commission. If I can manage to make $80 a week, I will use $55 of that to buy into the Daily Marathon on Sunday morning NZT to try and win it. After all, my main goal is to win that tournament by the end of 2019! And I know I can win it because I came in 76th place in the Sunday Marathon 4 months ago after being the chip leader at one stage. That was my biggest cash ever.

I'm back playing on Stars in 30 days from now. I now have a job that will make me enough money to play in the $55 Sunday Marathon each week. 1st Sunday Marathon will be on 11th August 2019. I will do some study in the meantime. Need to tighten up my game and stop going broke in big pots when I have the 2nd best hand!
