yeah after so much action, would fold JJ too, unless I know Villains at total aggro fishes who have hands in their jam-ranges that absolutely not belong there.

the problem here is that it is unlikely that both have a hand that
I beat now
Will hold to showdown.
I've called in this position before when my stack is shorter, and I need to get chips or die (hey -- I want that on a T-shirt).
Several times, they've both held AK, and block each other's outs.
Other times, you're faced with one of them having QQ+ and the other AQ+ and now you're in a world of hurt.

In Holdem it´s easy: get it in, unless you got a 6-7-8 flop, with all of them spades and you got two red acies. AA has 80 % eq against a random hand.
But PLO: Acies CAN be good but don´t have to. Acies only have like 65 % equity against a random hand.
Not only that, but what goes with the aces makes a huge difference
A♥:K♥:A♦:Q♦: is one heck of a lot better than
A♥:9♠:A♦:4♣:
Equity Wins Ties
MP2 69.12% 68.79% 0.33% { AhKhAdQd }
MP3 30.88% 30.55% 0.33% { random }
Equity Wins Ties
MP2 61.98% 61.70% 0.28% { Ah9sAd4c }
MP3 38.02% 37.75% 0.28% { random }
Well better anyway, but not a heck of a lot I guess...

I haven't posted here in almost a month!
I've been so busy getting my twitch stream layout organized, and you may not have notices, but PokerStrategy.com is under attack by a swarm of spam bots, and each spam post takes time to remove. A small amount -- less than a minute -- for each post, but it needs to be done.
I'll post a full update later this week ...

Your first ? Wow, you mustn't be playing a lot of NLH then ^^
Gl hf of course, may the white magic be with you !
And you don't play stud so you'll be fine.

Don't forget the "that I can remember" part. I'm old now.
In fact, I am a year older than the first commercially successful transistor.
Man! That hurts!
I don't play a lot of NLH 'tis true, and I don't play a lot of small PP either so maybe it happened, and it passed unnoticed...
(and I may have folded top set if bottom set shoved -- I used to play like that)
All the best,
VS
Aaaw, SCOOP: So many memories!
Would like to play some events too. Would love to play at least one PLO or PLO8-tourney!

Our paths may cross, then... ♠_wink:
(I'll leave you alone in the PLO-high, though.)
I was going to write down a schedule myself yesterday, but then I saw that there are only a few events I'm interested in, and for many of those, I won't know if I'm available due to my IRL schedule. So I'll just deal with each day as it comes.
I am from a different community but I often visit here...how come I never came across this blog?
Read the first pages about the MGP and how you acted to solve your mental game issues. Top material! GLGL!!

Don´t worry, I´m not good at PLO8 - just play it for fun. If you take my chips - well then: So bet it! ♠_biggrin:

I suppose it makes sense, since these hands all come from SCOOP 09-L $11 NL 2-7 Single Draw
Yes, I cashed, but only on my second bullet. The total invested was about 16 dollars, since my first entry was via satellite.
I finished 120th of 2238 (top 5%) for $41.45
The first hand involving a pair of 9 made Hand of the Day
The second was much like the first, but going the other way:

I guess if they're not going to fold when you bluff with 9s, why not bluff with something bigger?

Could you please give me the most basic of insights into this game? Are you supposed to make the lowest hand possible or something? What about triple draw, are you allowed to discard part of your hand and get new cards, is that it?
Yes indeed -- that is exactly how it works.
The best hand is 75432 with at least two suits.
The single-draw form is always played NL (as far as I know anyway)
The triple-draw form is always played as a limit game.
In triple-draw you have 3 chances to improve your hand.
You can discard any or all of your cards, or keep them all -- known as "standing pat"
In practice you rarely discard more than 3, unless you get a freeplay in the big blind.
Position is a huge factor in this game, because the only information you get on opponents hand strength is how many cards they draw.
I don't know of any articles on PokerStrategy.com for these games -- perhaps that can be remedied
Cheers,
VS
