Weaker players have no fold button in PLO - according to my experience. :f_o:

Vorpal it's called the post oak effect, when you bet smaller you gain FE because it seems less likely you'd try and bluff with that sizing.
Kind of the poker equivalent to the football's panelka shoot lol.

I first ran across that term in one of Doyle Brunson's books -- can't remember which.
It is an actual tree and it is (among other things) used for making fence posts.

I have not been able to find an authoritative description regarding why it is used in the sense of "very small bet"
There are a lot of poker expressions from "the olden days" that no-one knows the origin of anymore.
"Cathop" meaning a 2-card draw to a straight flush is another one lost to obscurity.

Cheers,

Well spotted -- I didn't think of this before.

To you too. Thinking about picking up 4 cards today, but the weather is soooo nice. Did my SnG-session, was card-dead and then had enough, but today I feel soooo much like doing something else. :f_cry:

Will pick up 4 cards again tomorrow. Will play my last SCOOP-event before I go on "summer break", which means: June - August only recreational play.

SCOOP special - last efforts before poker "off season" ....

What a nice way to end "grinding season": with 4 cards and "da pot" :f_ugly:

Getting started soon .....

A little bit over starting stack ....

Not much action during the first hour from my side. Called a raise with double pair 2277ss, but totally missed the flop and folded. Got ss acies through, collected a small pot, got acies again and got a small pot... so far only collected a couple of small pots. 32 K in chips (starting stack = 25 K).

I´m at a table full of gamblers, so I have to wait patiently for a solid hand or solid combo-draw and value bet.

GL Prim, ship it. I had won a USD 22 ticket for Scoop, played a satty for the USD 109 PLO event yesterday, qualified but busted out around 1.300 with 600 places paid. Had a lot of fun :f_drink:

Short stack

Deralte, I indeed need luck. Got badly coolered on the river, lost FH vs FH and lost half of my stack. But then could make a nice comeback with this:

PokerStars - 600/1200 Ante 75 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

UTG: 65.54 BB (VPIP: 38.60, PFR: 10.53, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 57)

BTN: 31.01 BB (VPIP: 65.22, PFR: 6.52, 3Bet Preflop: 4.76, Hands: 46)
SB: 36.58 BB (VPIP: 33.33, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 3)
BB: 28.08 BB (VPIP: 71.21, PFR: 22.73, 3Bet Preflop: 9.52, Hands: 67)

6 players post ante of 0.06 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

6 players post ante of 0.06 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.89 BB) Hero has A♦ K♥ A♠ 3♦

fold, MP raises to 2 BB, fold, Hero raises to 7.89 BB, fold, fold, MP calls 5.89 BB

Flop: (17.66 BB, 2 players) 5♥ J♠ Q♦

Hero shows A♦ K♥ A♠ 3♦ (Straight, Ace High)
(Pre 62%, Flop 71%, Turn 80%)
Hero wins 29.23 BB

Blinds increase very quickly and since my double up I´ve been totally card-dead! No decent flops, no decent hands.....

So I´m short stack and gotta go all in and double up....

I was railing it. I only really pay attention to the equity in these hands, but when I saw the ace on the turn, I immediately thought "that's a little too good to be true, is it?". :f_cry:

GG Prim! :f_drink:

Why is the floxy cat so sad? The cat has some nice food and even a first place trophy but its still looking sad. ?(

That was ineed not nice loosing with that equity, but in poker you can have 99 % equity and loose anyway. :f_cry: During the last couple of month I lost many hands which were clearly +EV and which I got in good. Was a bit frustrating. If it weren´t summer I would take a break anyway, but now the timing is perfect to slow down. _thumbsup:

Because the cats he uses to represent me are always jaded.
And probably the poor cat just read yadi's blog and thus lost his appetite.
