It's what some people like to call an "organized mess", and it can be an efficient way of keeping all that stuff that you use on an everyday basis.
Problem is, an organized mess can gradually become an unorganized mess if you keep adding on top of it.
But the real chaos emerges when someone else decides to clean your organized mess in their own way, especially if they're following the "out of sight, out of mind" philosophy of cleaning.
Aaaaaaaaaw, that´s what happened with the laundry!! So, we know now that Homer has severe dust-mite allergy. So, of course I do the cleaning, and his chores are dish washing and doing laundry (which also includes ironing). I have a very clear and logical system how I organize my clothes in the closet. But everytime Homer did laundry I cannot find my favourite clothes, cause he never understood my system. So we agreed that he just puts my freshly washed clothes on my desk and I put them into the closet. Before we had that agreement, I never could find what I was looking for, he always messed up my clothes-organizing-system.
