Had couple days ago one opponent who called BU raise from SB. I 3bet with AK from BB to 4x. BU fold, SB call. Flop come 2s6sTd, SB shoves for pot size and I called with my AK. Villain turns 23o and wins and this was in 50€ game. So luckily whales are not limited to micros :)

Don't feel bad about this. By joining the table, every player gives their consent to give up their money if they lose, whether it is through bad play or bad luck. No one is forcing anyone to be at any table, every single transaction of money is voluntary.

If some of them do have gambling issues, it's their own responsibility to take care of it, not yours. Besides, many of those consistent losing players actually enjoy to "have a flutter", as the Brits say. There's no need to infer that they must be problem gamblers just because they keep playing and losing.

Yeah the "poor people having a gambling problem" is more of a myth than anything else. Those guys might exist but they are few and far between and you can't meet them in live rooms or in most online games nowadays. They play more with friends or in shady circles I guess.
And even if, they have a gambling problem in the end, meaning if they couldn't play poker they'd lose it all at black jack or some other game.
You are mostly taking the money of other regs and rich fishes that can afford it.

Maybe less of a myth than you might think.
A fellow cab driver in the '70s held another job as well.
Either would have provided a decent living.
The income from one job went almost entirely to poker. He played live, and he drank.
He might have known what he was doing, but the alcohol got in the way -- I don't know.

He was once a faculty member of the University of (Alabama? Tennessee?) in their music department.
At that time he had a wife and 3 kids.

He lost his home, his position and his family due to a combination of alcohol and gambling.

Yes they exist but they have a deeper problem and as I said, they'd lose their money otherwise if not at poker.

First world solution: Open a mobile WIFI (or WLAN like most germans would say :f_p: ) hotspot with your phone and connect with your notebook and now we want a nice update. :pcuser:

I thought of Ghale yesterday. Why? Was in the sauna. As my regular readers remember he posted a funny pic how finnish people think about temperatures. That's exactly me:

27°C outside: too hot! Eew heat wave !!!!

80 °C in the sauna : Whaaat?!! Too cold! Want 100°C !!!!

So enjoyed 100°C sauna yesterday.

Harrier: I really NEED sauna after the tennis coachings. Oh boy, I'm sure will get scolded again for not giving enough spin to the ball or not playing it precisely enough. Our coach at home is much more motivating. After coachings we are totally f..... up! Sauna is part of our survival kit.

Probably not too many finnish people that would not have been in sauna. At least from those who have been born here. There is estimation that Finland has roughly 2 million saunas. Compared to population of 5.5 million people it's decent number I suppose.

For me personally best saunas have been those warmed with wood. Overall experience is just more relaxing imo. Of course having wood to burn might be problematic in lot of scenarios.

But yeah 20c or bit more is enough outside. I actually heard it's quite common these days that people from southern Europe come here for holiday as it's so much colder. Well I can understand that if it's like 35+c there...

For wood saunas temperature of 70-80c is enough. Depends also on size and how well air change. Low air circulation will start to give suffocating feeling and too high won't give proper "löyly" (I don't know english term).

According to Google Translate, it simply means "steam" but if that was the term you were looking for, you most likely would have known it already.

So I guess it's some misty sauna-thing that has something to do with steam, but isn't exactly the same.

I think "humidity" would be a good fit for this concept.
Humid air feels hotter, because moisture cannot evaporate as fast from the surface of your skin.

The dry heat in the Nevada desert (35+) did not feel nearly as intolerable as the same temperature in Vancouver.

Ghale, there is no off topic here, cause this is a fun-blog. Speaking of sauna: spent a lot of time there due to weather. Around 17°C here cloudy and sometimes raining and very very windy, we could not go for an island-hopping by ship, so we spend our vacation mostly with sports and wellness; sauna!
Tennis is possible, cycling is possible and of course sauna. Very nice and relaxing. Enjoying the vacation very much!

Yes the sauna is a finnish one I think. A wooden house, 95-100°C, with steam and hot stones. Every hour there is some nice steam with different flavours, in German "Aufguss" not sure what the English word is. Afterwards cold shower of course and a brief bath in cold water. There's a pool with cold sea-water wich is my favorite.

Really? Things have been pretty stable around here. The heat wave is done for now, but it's still warm and dry. I heard there might be some rain towards the end of the week, though - maybe just in time for your return?

Too bad about the island hopping, but on the plus side, the North Sea must look pretty cool with the strong wind and the rain and all. I loved watching it as a child whenever I was there, it was so relaxing.

Harrier, I heard that rain is coming in whole Germany. Raining here at the moment. Enjoying our vacation even without island-hopping. Tennis and bike-tours are still no problem.
Glad that this terrible heat wave ended. We missed out half of it and we are not sad about that lol! Weather forecast is predicting warm but not hot weather for Southern Germany. Fine to me. As long as it's not over 27°C I'm fine with everything.
15°C here and raining. I love cool to medium temperatures.
