Lets say you just call. What hands he is able to barrel on river that was a fold to your 3bet? If you can find enough of that combos you can just call. Vs reg I think it is very unlikely, vs maniac - its fine.

I would be playing this combo as a call on turn. Folding out his Tx combos when you can get them to c/c rivers is a bad result here. Rivers are going to be super easy to play here. Paired boards facing leads, you can just call. Unpaired and non 8/9 turns facing leads you raise. Diamonds facing leads you can just call.

I don’t think many players raise TX on turn. It’s more likely we’re against sets or flush draws (maybe 76), and those hands have pretty good chance to outdraw us, so I don’t think it’s good idea to let them draw. That said, I think turn bet is too small. If bet was 0,90-1,00, after his raise you would have easy shove.

If you just call the turn and river board pair and villain overbet or potbet how can call? Only hope villain overplayed two pairs or over pairs or busted flush draw. But if came 3rd d, villain easily hold Ad2d or Ad4d.

I'd also do what you did and hope that he had 67. But, if you had just called, he may have bluffed once more on the river. I wouldn't be too scared of being outdrawn since you also had a flush draw. If he did too, there would be only six cards of diamonds in the deck (around 12%).
