Back in my university days, I once accidentally left a partially used head of lettuce in the fridge at my student's apartment before leaving for the winter holidays. When I returned, all that was left of it was some brownish liquid.

When my brother worked for the railroad they moved him from place to place a lot, and had trailers for him -- and other workers to stay in.
Once he and another guy were posted to Prince Rupert for a stint, and while there they bought 5lbs of shrimp.
They were called away suddenly, and had to leave some (or all?) of the shrimp in the fridge.

They never went back, and it was some time before another temporary worker was posted there.

I can only imagine.

Trolls,
before I say good night, I have to mention those important news:

Had pasta pesto for dinner and an ice cream for dessert!

Ok Trollette. It's registered. Thank you and have a good appetite.
Or don't. I don't care actually.

You left out the most important news: What flavor??

This one maybe:

Yes, it's real ice cream. They serve it in a restaurant in Taiwan.

The idea of this ice cream dog (the opposite of a hot dog, I guess) may be pretty cute, but it does look a bit weird in practice:

So today was the day when I finally embarked on my adventurous journey to that distant liquor store (not all that distant, but it's about a 30 minute drive).

Dropped a ton of money there, but it was worth it:

My home bar is very close to completion now.

Is the green bottle on the left Absinthe?
(not that I care of course)

So you have absinthe ? Wonder what it's worth.
Absinthe is made in my very region. There is even a "distillerie" in my small town.
And a french rock group is called "Absinthe-minded". Fun name.

It is Absinthe. Feel free to enlarge the picture if it's a bit hard to see.

This is actually my first encounter with the Green Fairy. I mostly plan to use it for mixing.

I believe the price for that bottle was around €17 or so.

Also, I'd love to mix a Grasshopper cocktail to put some of my new additions to the test.

Turns out that the only ingredient I'm missing now at home is plain old cream...

Using absinthe for mixing... weird german is weird.
Absinthe is a really exploitative beverage, not meant for use in mixed strategies.
