A bit too loose?

I like it, it's a bit loose but Imo fairly standard restealing spot.

I dont like it very much. It is clear your whole move depends on the FE, but A7 has no suckout value and you are dominated every time. I like to resteal instead with K8+,Q9+,J9+,T9+,any pocket pair and Aces for value.

it depends of course on how often he is stealing.
against a tight stealer i will lay down this hand
only against the losest stealer im using a7 here because of diefferent reasons.

your M of 10 leaves you with plenty time and space to make moves, so you are not desperated to make this move here.#
if your stack would be around 7m it makes more sense, but here your stack is just to deep to fool around with A7o.

i would rather make this move with sc, pairs and some hands like KQ or QJ but those rag aces are far too often dominated, never a huge favourite so i will only use them if i really HAVE to.

here you stack is deep enough to just fold A7o

assuming villian only calls 99+ AQ+ I think he has to openraise 12% at least to make it break even chip ev.

I'm playing with some ranges and just opening every broadway+PP is more than enough. of course it depends on the villian of course. So why should he be the loosest stealer to make this move? I'm probably way off with this analisis and would be glad if someone made me see where I'm wrong.

This is good to know ! I think the reasoning is very good. (assuming the EV calculation is correct)

Though we can never know what the vilain might call with...

He might just be a fish thinking KT is the nuts, or he might be a good player understanding your in a very good resteal position, thus calling lighter 88+, AJ+ ?

+ I feel with this stack size, a shove looks weaker than a 3-bet (even tho it comits you anyway)

Well, when you 3-bet and villain comes over the top you are already committed(and I don't want to call all-in with A7o), so shove is better cause it gives you more FE.

Well my point is, if you think villain KNOWS that and think you know it too, then it looks a lot stronger to 3-bet not all-in.
Making it look like you wan't to give him the opportunity to shove over the top with worse hands.

If he is good enough to be thinking at this level, then he will probably hesitate more to call you (or reshove over you, whatever) with some not-so-good-but-better-than-yours hands he would maybe call a shove with, knowing your restealing light.

Does that make any sense ?

Maybe I'm just over thinking it...but I think there is no small gain in poker.
So it might be good to include that in your thought process when playing against thinking players.

I don't think 3-bet gives us more FE than direct all-in. When we 3-bet, villain might now make moves with even weaker hands (re-re-steal) and calling with A7o there is really questionable. But I agree with grummeler, I should have waited for better spot.

In this level of play, try not to think over 1 or 2 levels ;).
