i didn't actually misclick, nor do i think the hand was very well played. but sometimes this is just the way that things go
as long time readers know, i have never ran bad in my entire life.
this month, however, was not very good... it's funny that this happened as i decided that i wanted august to be a higher volume month, and also that winrate was higher on NL25 than on NL16.
i won't bore you with the gory details, but they were gory.

i think i played as usual for the most part, but sometimes you just don't win. still got a solid yearly graph and past results, so i'm not worried that i suddenly became a breakeven player.
that said, a month like this does push you to improve your game. i'm going to push some adjustments... probably going to play less hands this month, though.
the other thing that jumps out is the rake.
maybe play somewhere else? move up (finally)? i don't quite trust partypoker, but there are other options.
thanks ♦

maybe less was more, but i couldn't resist this particular card. pretty sure many regs are folding entire range here, and they probably should do so against the population, to be honest

Do they fold 44-55 here ? Or KT-KQ ?

i knew that question was coming lol. of course, you can find reasons to call, specially theoretical ones.
in practice, sets are slightly discounted due to no raise on the flop, and even when he does have them, it's obvious that i am representing a value range of AK+ (55 is also fine imo), so a thinking player realizes that their entire range is a bluffcatcher, and 2x pot overbet jams tend to be the nuts in these stakes.
so, if you go from that point to "they're never bluffing", then you end up folding your entire range.
i'm using an overbet range against this guy because i give him credit for being decent, and if he thinks for a bit and calls with Kx that's fine, i'll be using a reasonable overbet range. if you know someone has bad reg tendencies and might just "Kx snapcall rofl" then obviously we don't overbet bluff them.
transitioning to redline pro?

i do not expect to truly have a positive redline, but i have made some adjustments which i believe that should result in a profitable blue line for red line trade in the long term.
we'll see, i'm too lazy to post hands now
villain is probably the best reg in the pool, i'm not sure what villain is doing playing this limit. the same thing as me, probably.
i have to review this, i didn't play it correctly for sure. i'm not saying that i obviously should have called or (god forbid) that the river should be checked, but my strategy has holes here - i should think the ranges for each sizing through...

Red Line up is the difference for bad player to good player. A player with only blue up does not mean that he is a good player, it means that he is playing nit and not exploring the filed and having an even bigger winrate. Improve your pre flop lines, attack more than you defend and you will succeed in that.

improving red line always comes at some cost to the blue line.
that said, i do believe it's possible to have a decent redline at micros - it's not only about good aggression, but also about knowing when to give up and not burn chips (check/folding later is costly, and spewing your stack off is even more costly).Originally posted by Orochimaro

in general, it seems to me that the population calls overbets a bit too much, and i should probably exploitatively just overbet my lower sets against the population (this assumption could be completely wrong).i probably still wouldn't want to fuck around with the top reg in the pool without a decently thought out overbetting strategy, but i hadn't even considered overbetting here, which is a mistake.
in other news - this month has been low volume (as predicted) and good (couldn't predict).
i've also been moving some volume to other sites, including a certain site ran by a certain old school high stakes legend who named his Full Tilt account after a certain Clayton Holmes Aiken.
it's actually better than i expected, but the lack of fast fold is a major turnoff. i'll probably make it my second site (after pokerstars), though.
Calling stations and maniacs have always positive red line! I that make them a good players?
The most important thing after all is where your green line is! I doesn't care to lose a bit from red line with 58% W$SD for a big simple and all best analyzing software doesn't show me any major or important leaks ![]()
About over bets OTT you should do it with draws and monsters vs the correct players on wet boards and the same OTR;)
If the field calls more overbets then it's good to use more overbets with the top of the range, isn't it? Let´s play with Piosolver a little bit about it.

~ The BTN is the most important seat for redline as aggro BTN play takes advantage of position to win a lot of pots by getting
opponent to fold. Lots of 3B'ing. Lots of floats. Exploiting the
different player types.
~ As a general rule in any hand, on flop make a plan for all streets adapting to player type depending on runout. Redline suffers by too many passive Call/Call/Fold lines that could have been Flop Fold lines
or Flop RaiseFold lines.
