That 4bet is completely unnecessary, villain offered you fantastic odds to call his 3bet. You should consider 4bet with this hand only when you are facing big 3bet from aggressive opponent.

why is flatting a good option here ill think iff i got a set ill get more money in and mayby to let fold At KQ kinda hands
An utg range is already a strong range and your narrowing that range to an even stronger range you don't do very well against.You want to take a flop ip and keep villains range as wide as possible.And keeping in hands like AT KQ is ok for when we flop sets and they flop strong top pairs and we also get value from cbets when they miss.We don't want to bloat pots with a hand like 88 that don't play that great in 3bet pots with a lower spr. Your turning your hand in to a bluff pre and 88 isn't a good candidate hand to turn in to a bluff when it plays very well with a call and a higher spr

88 is okish 3bet vs SB, we can also call but 3bet should be higher frequency play. Against 4bet fold is obviously bad, its very often flat, but we can also shove against 4bet happy opponent.
@up - youy dont see how much equity you are giving away just by flatting. 88 is making money by denying his A7o , T9o and so on to see flop, and in case when SB calls 88 is still decent hand to play with position and initiative.
