PokerStars - $0.02 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players

BTN: 125 BB
Hero (SB): 123.5 BB
BB: 132 BB 24/17 3bet: 8 , 4bet: 1 , 500h
UTG: 101.5 BB
MP: 186 BB
CO: 96 BB

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A♣ Q♣

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, BB raises to 9 BB, Hero calls 6 BB

Flop: (18 BB, 2 players) K♣ 8♦ J♠
Hero checks, BB bets 11 BB, Hero calls 11 BB

Turn: (40 BB, 2 players) 3♣
Hero checks, BB bets 20 BB, Hero raises to 103.5 BB and is all-in, BB calls 83.5 BB

preflop 4bet/call is an option but I think calling here sometimes is ok as well
turn is a good spot to balance my c/r I think and he can also have a lot of hands that he can't call with despite being ahead so I figured its ok?

On NL2 you don't need to balance your check/shove range on the turn I think.
Even against a regurlar it's not bad to shove with only value hands.
Most of the time I would earlier call a draw than take a variance move with a shove.
There aren't to many better hands that will fold or you have reads and stats that he could fold hands like top pair or even 2 pair here.

Thank you for posting this hand tschoa. I'm still lost in such spots, too. Sometimes even regs on NL2 aren't able to fold their TP.

I would just check/call OTT again against 1/2 bet.

Hello,

Pf ok, I prefer to call than to 4bet/fold so well played imo.
Flop looks like a strong value bet from the villain, x/f is probably the most +EV move, but I understand your call.
Turn I don't agree with your move, it's very unlikely that villain is bluffing so it's almost impossible for you to get folds there. As played, you have decent odds to call there and you can x/f on the river if you miss your draws. Therefore it's a x/c there.

Cheers.
