It's sort of a crying call OTR but I'd just call it anyways.

This guy has a real wide range coming into the flop. On that board his range hits many combined hands, like, pair with a draw.

His little flop donk further encourages me to think he has something like 78 (tp with gutshot), or 56 (2nd pair with oe). He could also have plain old draws, or some kind of double draw with straight and flush possibilities.

When he donks the flop he could have some nutsy hands too, like the set, straight or 2p, however, once he calls our raise we can take most of them out of his range.

Your raise wants to be bigger, this betsize is puny. He needs to call just 8c to win almost 60c!!

The Q comes on the turn and he donks quite small again... We can assume he doesn’t have the queen unless his Qx of diamonds paired, but this isn’t very likely. This bet does, however, look strong! We’ve already taken most the nuts out of his range but 2pair like 75 is starting to look more likely again. I think that his most likely holding is a very well connected low pair. He might even have a pair with an open-ended straight-flush draw.

I do like your call on the turn, it’s nice and cautious. However, I think his range is heavy with those combined hands which I want to get more value from. We could put him to the test with a little raise over his turn donk. If he jams, we fold. If he calls, we have him beat and are in control on the river... Or perhaps we raise bigger to get him committed, or we could even raise jam... I prefer any of these raises to the call.

River brings a horrible card for us, loads of his hands improve to beat us. The fact that he didn’t change his betsize from the turn makes me think his hand strength hasn’t changed, but maybe that’s what I’m meant to think.

He has a couple combinations of Qx in his range. He also has some 7x and even some random air/missed draws so we beat quite a lot. Hands that beat us are those dangerous 5x hands, and some rare ubernuts. So is an easy call for me.

I’m defo writing a note on this guy. Especially if he shows up with a set or a straight.

Flop raise is way to small. You can easy raise like 30c against him for value and protection.
As played all draws are missed and you beat now some 2 pair hands as well and I would call him down as well.

he had 77 flopped a set, that's why I was asking what we thought on the turn, I guess it was a strong play now that I know what his hand was he was trying to protect it on the turn with that bet.

I think I'd fold turn.

He just played like a spaz. Don’t try to justify the villains plays but do try to understand your villain. Write notes like:

Donk Flop tiny in mwp = Nuts
Donk turn halfpot = Nuts
Half pot barrel river = nuts on flop

This guy has little panic attacks when he hits the nuts. He plays them too passively. Bets too small. He’s scared he’ll lose his opponent.

If you also find that this guy bets big and aggressively at times, perhaps by check-raising, you can usually presume this is what he does with bluffs, until you’ve seen him do otherwise.

I'm fine with this. Board is awful for us, but I understand the flop raise (but not the size).
Calling down from here seems totally fine against his sizes. His line looks super fishy, we never know what he can be representing. AA is just too strong.
Call, take notes and move on like yadi says ♦
