Is it possible to have positive red-line in MTT tournaments, over a big sample and be winner ?
What i have seen and read is that it is possible to be a long term winner with positive red-line in cash games, but what about tournaments ?
Is it possible to have positive red-line in MTT tournaments in the long run, while being winner at the same time ?
I have never read and never saw any graph picture with positive red-line in MTT tournaments ?
I quess it is not possible, because of the tournament nature. Constantly changing blind levels + antes and many push/fold situations will make it impossible in my opinion. Antes alone will take a huge amount big blinds in the long run.
So what you think ? Is it possible ? Have you ever seen or read about it ?
Any examples ? Your thoughts ?

My full time coach for four months made all his profit from redline. His blue line plummeted. He played cash.
The strategy he used was all about the late game. I can sometimes still hear his suave Turkish voice in my head...
“We don’t care about zeez pots, we want ze bigger onez”
... I did used to destroy him, but this may highlight his training style rather than my skill. I knew his strategy like the back of my hand so I would out-play him all over the place. Luckily for him, he was one of those guys who’s ev line made you feel sick.
Just so you know... To counter his strategy you have to tee up the late game trap by sacrificing profit on early streets to remove hands from your percieved range that could hit hard. Then, when the unexpected hand hits hard, he will bluff harder and we can take down huge pots... provided he doesn’t get some insanely lucky river!
I don’t think he’d do well in tourneys for the exact reason you stated. There just isn’t enough room for him to manoeuvre.
I think it depends also what kind of limit you are playing if you can reach a positive red line. That's the same with cash games that it's tough to bluff on micro stakes and a little bit easier against decent players.

Or from where you take your info ? Just by thinking that you quess you think ?
I need legit info/data based on someones expierence, or from some other legit source , graph or something like that.
Personally i think that is impossible, simply because of the antes alone will eat a big chunk of non-showdown winnings.
So please anyone ? Do you have or have you seen any MTT graph with over 500+ tournaments at-least with positive red-line ?
Just curious is that possible, and if it is, then i will find and figure out how to adapt and what changes to game i need to take to get that myself aswell.
No need to just say that you thik you quess that is possible. If you say so, then say please the logical reasons behind it aswell.

to have a positive red line it is necessary to win w/o going to showdown.
For that to happen, you need to get people to fold.
So an aggressive player might have a positive red line if they:
lose only small amounts before showdown by folding pre, or folding the flop w/o getting more money in
and
Using stack size and position to get folds when the pot is larger.
and/or
taking marginal pots to showdown so the loss shows on the blue line instead of the red.
Whether you win it on the red line or the blue, the important thing is to win it!
Another think I thought of -- with antes, a positive red line becomes really, really difficult.

The most obvious problem for me is that the biggest profit in an MTT comes when we finish first by winning all the chips. Meaning our last hand MUST go to showdown.
Although, as the chip leader for most of the final table, you may have won hand after hand w/o ever seeing a showdown.
At least, I sincerely hope that your next FT will go like that !
