Hi guys and good luck with your venture.

you mentioned you have to make $400 per month is that each or is that what you need to make together for a good standard of living?

Week #2 (1st update) - June/09. Dandycal

What are you doing?

Hello everyone,

The reason for the picture above is that I am not satisfied with my game on NL50. For some reason I became recklessly aggressive and too "adventurous" to be trully profitable. That's not the way to go! But no matter, I'm aware of the issues with my game and I will work a lot on improving it. If I am not sure whether a situation is +EV, I'll just save my money from now on, no more recklessness!

Anyway, the beginning of this week hasn't been bad, I'm a few stacks down but a lot of that was simply bad luck. Yesyterday I ran up against AA 5 times with AK, QQ, and KK!! MY AA got busted a couple of times and I ended up as the underdog in freeplays where I hit 2 pair or trips. Oh well. Anyway, I finished releasing the bonus in Pokerstars and now I'm getting ready to start bonus whoring in Party Poker, even though I've heard the tables there are quite tight =(

I'll be using my brother's account in Party Poker, so no more Strategy points for me this month. I think I would have made diamond if I kept grinding at this rate, but I don't think I deserve that yet anyway.

This is the graphic for June in Stars so far, both NL25 and NL50. Not the most positive result, but positive nonetheless.

June overall Poker Stars - NL25 and NL50
+$96.85
+1.46bb/100h

Multi-tabling: max 12 tables for NL50
Hands played: 31378
Bonuses: +$184 >Stars insant cash
Bankroll: $948
Next stop: Release $940 bonus in Party Poker.

A lot of studying and a lot of grinding to come. Oh yeah, next week we'll be playing a live torney over here, about $300 first prize. Not too big, but it'll be great to get some live experience. Besides I've hears in live tourneys the fish are even fishier than on line.

@andrewjd: Thanks!

@Absoluto: Another fellow Brazilian! Nice to hear from you (I'll keep this in English as requested =D). WE are currently playing in IPoker, PokerStars and Party Poker. We ended up meeting a lot of people in the English community, and as you said, there is more material and "action" here. It's simply a larger community, so we decided to stick around. I wanted to participate in the Portugueses community as well, but I just can't find the time at the moment.

@Dadude: Man, I think I need to be at least in NL100 to try for the Supernova Elite, you need A LOT of VPP for that.

@themagpiespg: Hey there. We need $400 each for a reasonable but cheap life-style over here =D

That's all for now. Peace.

Where I live you need to make about $2000 per month for reasonable standard of living. I'm not quite there yet but hopefully I can get there by end of the year.

I live in the north of England (Yorkshire).

Good luck and happy fishing _biggrin:

After possible tax raises in Latvia, average salary after taxes will be 250$-300$. So Im considering NL 25 and NL 50 SSS for living as unemployed for alomst a year.

I saw in your profile that you are from Maceonia, land of Alexander - I really like ancien history. I really want to visit those parts of Europe one day.

I wish you luck! It's definitely possible. I suggest very conservative BRM to go through downswings, and by the time you bet NL100 you'll be able tohave a very comfortable life-style.

PS.: This was actually sted by dadycal. I didn't realise the pc was logged in my brother's account

Week #2 (2nd update) - June/09. Dandycal

Fixing the leaks

Greetings,

I'm now on Party Poker releasing lots and lots of unwanted bonuses from my brother's account. So this month it will pretty much be as if I was playing with a handsome rakeback deal =D

I'm still getting used to Party Poker, because it gives me soooo little time for the decisions pre-flop (I was used to PokerStars infinite timer). So my game is still quite clumsy as I'm trying to follow the advanced charts for adjusting re-raises, re-steals, and improving my pre-flop equity with some mental math. There are many leaks to be fixed now as I am increasing my range and my moves. I'm reading the articles over and over and watching videos every so often. Btw, did anyone see the new SSS video by AK? That guy is just way too funny, I was laughing out loud during some parts of the video, like when he suddenly decides to make a 12 sec "1 min of silence" for some one who died in an earthquake in Honduras. Lots of fun and a very interesting video, recommended.

This is the graphic for Party Poker so far. As you can see, I'm way above EV this time. But really, I've been running against the most uncanny hands. KK and QQ face AA, in freeplays everytime I hit two pair, trips or better, some fish completes a full house on the river.. I'm not sure how I'm still on the green.
The traffic on party poker is alright during the day, but at night time I have a hard time finding enough tables, so eventually I also play NL25. My avg hands/hour decreased a lot, due to Party Poker's short timer.

Overall Party Poker - NL25 and NL50
+$86.99
+2.47bb/100h

Multi-tabling: max 9 tables for NL50
Hands played: 6177
Bonuses: +$200 and +$740
Bankroll: ~$1000
Next stop: Release $200 bonus in Party Poker. Status: 40% released.

We've hung two papers on the wall right above our monitor here, it's our ideal bankroll for the end of this month. It says $2500 for dandy and $4500 for caltabiano. We can make it!

That's it guys, good luck and peace!

dandys playing SSS on FR NL50.

And dandy, wouldnt the short timer "increase" the hands/hour if anything?

By the way, if you play that number of hands every week, on stars NL50, it would take you around 13 weeks, so just about 3 months for supernova. you got it no problem :) But SNE would be impossible! :) go for it!!

Week #2 (final review) - June/09. Dandycal

Just a quick update. I have to make a record of this heater so I remember it in difficult times. For nearly 100K hands my win-rate has been below EV, but this week things changed:

High Five

Party Poker - NL25+NL50
+$197,75
+3,58bb/100h

Multi-tabling: max 9 tables
Bonus: $200 + $740 Party Poker - being released.
Bankroll: ~$1100
Next stop: Release the first $200 bonus - 60% complete.

Ok, I'm not going to get carried away with this. It all goes up and down, let's be realistic. But I am happy nonetheless.
My brother has had a tough weekend playing NL50, red results. But his game on NL20 is +++EV and variance in NL50 will soon pass. The good thing is that he's feeling confident about his game, I really admire that. Sometimes bad sessions can really put people down. With the volume we are playing, by the end of the month we'll have reduced variance a lot.

@katavich: Yeah, I'm on FR. Tables are a little too tight, but there are always some fish around. REgarding SH tables I just have no idea. The bonus is giving me an equivalent of 50% rakeback (by HM's calculations).

@ Dadude: In Pokerstars I can make nearly 20K hands a week. With the Party timer I have to open less tables, 7 or 8, whereas in Stars I can 12 table easily. I believe in a couple of months I could reach Supernova. But as this bonus in PartyP. i= 50% rakeback, I'll realease it first and then I should have enough bankroll for NL100., and move back to Stars for Supernova Unless I feel like bonus whoring a little more, Everest perhaps..

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. Best regards to all of you.

Week #2 closed - June/09 - caltabiano

What's up everybody. I've done my NL50 weekend cruise and it didn't go so well. But fair enough, it didn't go so bad either. Here's my graph for this month. I'm still down some $266. But I'll catch right back up soon enough!

Whatever goes down is NL50, whatever goes up is NL20, lol.
I feel like I'm playing NL50 too differently from NL20. I just gotta keep playing my game. I'll certainly play better next weekend. I was pretty satisfied with my game on sunday, but not on saturday. On saturday I know I threw some money down the toilet due to crap play. I feel like I'm improving my game though, especially my post flop skills =)

I gotta start posting hands in the forum again. I don't know why I stopped it. I've been posting very few hands just once in a while. I shall be more active from now on, both in posting and in evaluating other people's hand.
I've already paid nearly $1k rake this month So already $500 of rakeback. I'll make it $1k of rakeback!

Alright lads, I'm off to some studing now and then some grinding! _cool:

Cheers!
