Hello,

Poker Stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

Hero (SB): $2.16 (108 bb)
BB: $2.06 (103 bb)
UTG: $1.80 (90 bb)
MP: $2.59 (129.5 bb)
CO: $2 (100 bb)
BTN: $2.08 (104 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8 J
UTG calls $0.02, 2 folds, BTN raises to $0.06, Hero calls $0.05, BB folds, UTG calls $0.04

Preflop a fold here.

Flop: ($0.20) 6 9 7 (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, BTN bets $0.08, Hero calls $0.08, UTG folds

Flop 1:3,5 so I need approx 22% equity.
I have OESD with 8 cards so to turn I get 17%, to river my equity is 31,4%

Turn: ($0.36) 4 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

River: ($0.36) 9 (2 players)
Hero ?

The draws missed, Villain has checked turn so probably is not holding a 9x. If he had a SDV he should bet the turn... I think a bet here could make him fold Q-high, K-high, possibly some A-high.

I don't really like flatting J8s from the sb it's a bit loose for me,but as played i think we need to bluff the river without showdown value.

Player dependant man you have to figure out the player types you are playing against and speculate what you they are capable of folding and to what size bet. You didn't bet top pair on any street so it seems like an odd line to bluff the river, sure they can have high cards sometimes but are they folding a pair ?

Could be, but on NL2 there are a lot of players that doesn't like to fold.
That makes it tough to bluff and the question is what kind of hands in his range he will fold here.

Cheers,

Preflop I'd rather fold or squeeze. Playing from the SB is already bad enough without being capped.
Flop ok I guess. You could try a bluff right here as well.
Turn whatever.
River is indeed a good bluffing spot. As the flop check/caller you have a lot of top pairs that are now trips.
I still think you can have some full's here, whilst BTN can't (you also block the str8). If you want to put pressure on overpairs and stuff you need to overbet.
At NL2 some will snap with 8x or so, so I'd only bluff a decent regular.

I missed the fact it's a btn iso vs an utg limp as well which probably makes it an easier fold pre.
