Hello everybody,
my name is Daniel and after like a 5 year break I have decided to give poker a try once again and start a new blog to share my experience and experiences with the best community. There are several reasons for that which added up over time and now I have come to a conclusion that I want to play again. I quit playing for several reasons as well back in 2015. The most important one was the restrictions our government in the Czech Republic put upon poker and "other hazard" in general. Online poker was more or less dead for a few years in our country but it seems that the situation is getting better. Pokerstars are back, Party Poker as well, traffic is nice. Czech PSGY is almost dead so I decided to start my blog on English forum.
So one reason is that I can play at all
Furthermore I am affected by the virus as well in a way that I have to work from home, giving me more free time. I am also a passionate online gamer and despite working full time and having a wife I think I played over 1000 hours of online games in 2019. Which is month and a half of constant gaming
So I thought, hey, you might as well put these hours into something that might actually be +EV. Honestly gaming is not +EV at all, at least for casual players like me.
So here I am now, trying my luck in micro cash games once again. I deposited 40 dollars on PS, for some reason 10 dollars were already there in my account and I have 50 dollars starting bankroll for NL2. Actually a little more now since I have played like 2000 hands already with small profit.
My peak back in 2015 was NL25 and I think I was doing quite well back then. And it is really nice coming back to it. I installed Hand2Note, cause it is free and use it for the most basic HUD, just to differentiate types of players. I have watched a fews videos, read a few articles and all the concepts are slowly coming back to me. Slowly, but steadily ![]()
What surprised me though is the soft field. NL2 was always the softest level of course but hey, there is fish absolutely everywhere. Dont even need to table select. Just sit down and there is always at least 2 of them. Maybe it is caused by the virus now who knows.
My goal is to slowly get back into the game, play solid poker and not dwell on short-term results. From a long-term point of view I would like to get back to the level at which I was 5 years ago. But that will take some time. If I made it to NL25 by the end of the year, it would be a huge success.
So wish me luck and I will keep you posted. ![]()
