Can you call 3bets with poket pairs and make profit in the long run ?
The problem is that when i tend to call with medium pocket pairs like 88-JJ, i will most likely always stack of when i have overpair in flop with no draws, dont you ?
Often enough times i lose it either to a bigger pocket or some Ax suited and the opponent will hit either A or suit or any other bigger card than my pocket pair.
And with lower pocket pairs, its even worse, most of the time flop card are bigger than your pockets and even if you hit your set with, you will often times enough will get set over set as well. Example 66 on the board of J62 with no draws, you get it all in, and the rive comes Q while opponent having QQ.
You will face C-bet most of the time and the pots are already so big that it makes hard to just flat call or raise and reevaluate the flop or turn. The same goes just by C-betting or donk-betting, or check/raising and then again reevaluating flop or turn. The pots are in flop already so big, and they become even bigger when making some moves. Is it really worth all of that hustle ?
What you think ? Is it possible to make profit in the long run by calling 3bets with pocket pairs ? IP and OOP ?
Is there any kind of X amount you and opponent/s must have to make these calls profitable in the long run ?
What you think about always 4bet/fold pocket pairs instead ?
When and why call 3bet with pocket pairs? When and why just raise/fold ? When and why to 4bet/fold ?
Long run profit possible?
Your thoughts overall. Thank you.
