Tournament late registration.

When contemplating late registration, you need to evaluate what you get.
 What is the starting stack compared to the average.
 How many big blinds do you get?
 How many places left before the bubble.
 How many double-ups will you need to get first place?

Oh -- one other thing. If it is a PKO, don't reg late. You need a bigger stack than the other players in order to knock them out, and if you late reg you'll be the one they try to knock out so you have less fold equity (or even no fold equity at all)

Yes, no late reg for PKO tournaments.
But those regular BIG and HOT tournaments give you 25BB when max late reg.
So its just couple all-ins and you are ITM.
So what you think ?

That's not a bad idea, but it depends if you are good in deep stack poker you can better start at the beginning of a tournament and if you like to play with stacks of <25bb it's fine to start when the late registration is almost finished.

Personally I always late reg to most normal mtt. Usually I like to do it in a way that stack depth is still 40+BB. Absolute minimum is like 20bb. Though 20bb might be questionable already. Last minute late reg can be very effective especially in rebuy games with bigger addon. E.g. if addon give more chips than initial buyin and you can almost late reg into it then it often still allow playable stack after addon.

But imo playing first blind levels is sort of waste of time especially if mtt starts like 200bb+ deep... PKO is exception though.

jump up to the top places very quickly, must be a pro thing.

There is a $1.10 buy-in PLO8 tournament I play almost every day.
There are a couple of players who register at the last minute.
If they get seated UTG, the blinds will knock them out.
If they get seated in the CO (or win a pot), they are likely in the money.

That site no longer allows trackers, so I have no idea how well they do.
I've tried it -- I've lost more than I've won.

I was looking to see how many blinds i would have if i ''max late reg.''
and it would be 10 bb if the mtt is not deep stacked, i think doing this in this situation
is a bad idea because even if i do luckbox it and double up i'd only be on approx. 20bb
wich isn't great, i'd stick with ghaleon's advice and late reg. a little earlier on the 20bb mark
at least then you'd double up to 40bb and have a playable stack and possibly some

I try to avoid late regisrations. I would better then play only AA and while waiting AA do some other stuff until late registration ends. I think there is still some value in playing before and chance to get better stack.

15 - 20 bb play ... you consult the charts and there you have it

late resgistration -if it regular speed tournament, i think you can be late about 30 min, 30min dont change nothink, but after 1h, it will be bad if you get table with big stacks players ahead of you. 10-15 big blind risky to play, you must go all in, with worst cards.

I enter the “big” games late at around 50bb it cuts out an otherwise long late Reg and I enjoy playing from a mid stack it cuts a good chunk of time off and saves 45 minutes of swimming in a minefield of limpers lol Not sure about faster games though.
