The maniac is 94/23/3B:4/CB71 149 hands

Because of him the action on table was really crazy. He would call a huge 3bet pre with any two. He can go all in on flop with one card flush draw meaning he needs to hit two cards to hit flush. He can bluff huge deep. He was running super hot against premium hands like AA, etc.

PokerStars - $0.16 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players

Hero (CO): 204.25 BB
BTN: 122.94 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A♣ K♥

fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, BB calls 2 BB

Flop: (6.5 BB, 2 players) 9♥ 4♣ K♠
BB bets 3 BB, Hero calls 3 BB

Turn: (12.5 BB, 2 players) J♣
BB bets 6 BB, Hero calls 6 BB

River: (24.5 BB, 2 players) 9♠

Thoughts?

I would have raised OTF. Same thing OTT. considering the fact that he was a maniac, maybe I could consider jam shove OTT. You ave TPTK, if he has trips OTF it is just a cooler.

His line may represent trip 9s with that river. since you went calling in your line, I would fold OTR.

If you don't reraise the flop, I would also call the river. Unless he never bets half pot in previous hands on the flop/turn where he was bluffing. If he always bets pot or goes all in immediately as a bluff, be very suspicious when he only bets half pot. So, taking mental notes is the key here imo.

If the guys a maniac I’m just calling, you exploit maniacs by calling them down often, raising at any point would tip them off to the fact you have a good hand when we would rather just let the guy bluff his stack off if he doesn’t have a good hand. Id call river and live with it if he rivered me. Have to understand there will be variance versus maniacs you can have big swings

Yeh, raise flop for sure. You can call weaker Kx and sets (yes, call sets).
Call him down if he's a maniac, although I'm not very happy about it to be honest. I believe you still have 9x and KJ as played. Blocking some flushdraws doesn't help too.

I will never raise that flop vs a maniac
Basically against spazzy guys you want to give them a reason to spazz, they are waiting for an excuse

When you call he will (well, incorrectly in my case) see that as weakness and keep barreling
you actually get more value from his range by calling than raising on both streets when he plays almost all hands as you keep his air in

River is still close, generally a paired board should make people slow down but with your reads I'd say we should be good often enough to make it a call, he has K9 so be it
