In a live tournament recently we had got down to the last 5, on the bubble.
Blinds were going up in 2k increments every 15 mins. (approx. 6 or 7 hands per level).
Situation
SB 35k
BB 40k
UTG 75k
Me 58k
D 40k
Blinds 3k/6k
UTG (loose) raises to 12k. I have TT and reraise all in. All pass to UTG who calls (with QJo). It transpires I was outdrawn and so out without cashing.
Did I make the right move and just got unlucky?

They were 5; so IMO you are making right move against any opponent.
Hi guys,
You can't calculate ICM unless we know the payout structure. It's impossible. Plus it's hard to know UTG's range, as the only info we have is "loose".
If the structure was for instance a 40/30/20/10 split, between 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th respectively, the correct move is to fold! If that is the correct payout structure then our range is JJ+ in this spot.

is there really so big difference in TT and in JJ, in a live tournament with those blinds etc. ?
I dont believe that pushing with TT is wrong and with JJ its OK,
Ofc. we cant give any advise because we dont know lots of things, but i guess you should follow ur instincts and read hes body language, maybe call see the flop. But i think its not JJ+ is right and TT push is wrong.
Hi,
So if you think I push with JJ so I will push with TT, do you also think I push with 99 because I push with TT? and so on? Right up to pushing 22. Don't be daft.
We use ranges, and if JJ+ is your range, then TT is not good enough. End of.
OHHH, and BTW never ever call preflop with such hands, such blinds, and such stack sizes.

i just gave my opinion no hard feelings, i still think in that kind of a live tournament it really doesnt matter if u push with JJ or TT
How loose was the villian, and what was the payout structure OP?
As I already said, NASH states its a fold (for a 40,30,20,10 structure), and imo I would fold (regardless of how many people say push). Why risk not making the money when we are 2nd in chips and in a nice position (position on the fish).
Thanks for all the feedback guys.
Payout was 160/90/60/25.
UTG's range? 22+ Ax Txs+ any connected and gapped connectors.
