PokerStars - $0.05 PL Hi FAST (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 82.8 BB
SB: 114 BB
Hero (BB): 117.2 BB
UTG: 117.4 BB
MP: 86 BB
CO: 171 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 8♦ J♣ 8♠ T♠

fold, fold, CO raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 2 BB

Flop: (6.4 BB, 2 players) Q♦ 9♦ 6♥
Hero checks, CO bets 6.2 BB, fold

Spoiler

CO wins 6.2 BB

I consider my draw not good enough to face potbet. Let´s lay out conditions to continue in this hand.

I´d continue if:
1) villain bet less than 80% of the pot - Q1: Is c/r better than c/c?
2) board was rainbow, so I have two more outs
3) my hand was nutty wrap, i.e. KJTT... well that seems to me close as well, how would you play that?

PLease let me know how in/correct my conditions for continuing in this spot are + the additional questions such as whether c/r or c/c is better. Thank you

1) What is the main difference for you when villain betting 79% pot instead of pot?
2) Please count up the outs you have in total, list it like this:

- nutstraightouts
- straightouts
- discounted (diamond) outs

if board is rainbow you have two more outs is not correct in any way i can imagine. if you have done that you might want to have a look here http://www.propokertools.com/simulations and also list the equitys you have against an all in range of opponent. then I can tell you wether you have to check raise or check call

3) will be answered if you do the outscount and equity analysis for nutty wraps.

1) I suppose that population tendency in general is the stronger hand is, the more bet sizing goes. Secondly I should be willing to continue playing hand with regards to pot odds which get better the lower sizing I´m supposed to call.

Two reasons. Hand strenght deducted from sizing and pot odds.

2) nutty outs I got 5, second nuts i got 4 outs. Excluded diamonds. ... This many out give me around 26%, readless, excluding (reverse) implied odds analysis I tend to make it simple and just fold, bcs via point 1 we don´t have odds. Potbet too strong.

Regarding pokertools, how can I include whole range of hands a quantify frequency of different sorts I don´t know. Because that is esential to make the analysis valueable, right? Or am I supposed to manual type a few combos just to make the program sure how are we doing against 3-4 types of combos and that´s it? If so, then it seems that excluding range proportions and frequency and certain combos makes the analysis way too approximate.

You guys know to analyse stuff, but when playing at the tables, you have all the analysed equities memorised? Or how does this kind of analysis help us play better at the table? Isn´t it only good to tell how good or bad our plays were in review?

analysis off the felt helps you find spots where you burn money or can play better. the more you analyse the better and faster you cann tell what your equitys are on the felt and you play according to your StackPotRatios.

When it comes to wraps I usually have a first look if my holecards have the top card of a wrap i.e. KJTx on Q96 flop. if the flop is rainbow I know even when opponent is only playing sets I have average EQ of ~40% when getting it in on flop. when flop is 2suited I discount 10% and so on. when you analyse spots off felt you just know some good, mediocre and bad spots.

maybe other player have more quick tips for ingame. me personally i x/call the flop one time

fold pre flop.

your hand lacks nuttiness which is a problem oop postflop.
CO`s Range (25-35%) is too strong to defend a weak hand like this.

once we hit this flop, we have some value to play this flop (17/5-non-nutted wrap + mid-pair which blocks both possible straightdraws + a very weak flush-blocker). Usually I check-call such hands when I have a pair but the 88`s will barely have SDV and would work better as sucker-oesd-blockers, so this hand I would donk-bet bluff.

the preflop defend is fine due to GTO/monkersolver (-0,54BB winrate)

I am assuming that villain and hero both are deviating quite alot from GTO.
