It is increasing at about 15K per day, and the record is 456K (since I've been keeping track -- August 2017 is when I started) -- so about 10 more days for a record.

Never played The Deal in the past. But I read that playing once every 12h is the best option to spend your coins.

Estimate:
The overall average number of players at the time the jackpot was won has varied between
11K and 42K players.
Recently they've been lower number of players, but the overall average was 16K, which works out nicely since if the jackpot was won right now ($320K) and if the average number of players were playing each would get 10 bucks.
Frequency of play:
If you play more often than once every 12 hours, you're playing for the jackpot, and the odds are NOT in your favour.
If you're playing for the subsidiary prizes, still pretty long odds for the payouts.
If you play less often you run the risk of the jackpot being won after your last play expires and before you play again.
This has happened to me.
It is somewhere in this thread where I report how short the time was between expiry and remembering to play.

I noticed the PokerStars streamers were all advocating for their viewers to get in there and play, so maybe it will get bigger even faster.
There has not been a spin in over two days[1] -- this is rare.
I predict that the next one will be the winner.
