Yesterday I had some troubles with HEM3 database. It kept crashing for some reason so I had to restart everything couple of times and this is the result. Some hands from yesterday are twice in the database which distorts my results. I am supposed to be +5BI but HEM shows me +7BI :f_rolleyes: Anyone had any similar trouble?

Edit: Solved it. Just purged yesterdays hands and imported them again.

May is coming to its end and it is time for a small recap and outlook to the near future. Btw. NL10 is not going so well so far. A few days ago I had the worst session so far. I was down 3 BIs which is not much but the way the session went was really terrible. I didnt lose one single whole stack but I was so card dead the whole session that I did so much folding as never before. It is important to say that I am partly responsible for this as well. Because after a while I went to a "giving up tilt" mode and started to anticipate that each hand I was involved in I was gonna lose. And I did :f_biggrin:

Spoiler

Never mind. NL10 is not going too well so far. I am 4 BIs above EV and up only 2 BIs after 6k hands. In the last session I even won KK vs AA and some other preflop allins where I was an underdog. If I had lost those I would be at NL5 now I think. But luckily that did not happen and I can keep fighting at NL10.

Spoiler

All in all it is still not that bad. I have played 35k hands so far with a winrate of 13,5 bb/100 throughout NL2-NL10. If I can keep up my winrate at 10 bb/100 or better long-term, that would be great.

Spoiler

So whats next. Moving to a new apartment is done. Below a photo of the view from our balcony :f_love:

Spoiler

It means that I will start with a new regime starting tomorrow. I will commute to work 100 kilometers 3 times per week. 2 times a week (Monday and Friday) I will work from home. So it is quite difficult to make any plans now because I dont know how the time will flow now. But I anticipate that I will be very tired on those commuting days and I will not be able to play these days. Maybe one hour in the evening tops. The main question is how much volume I can put in from Friday till Monday.

Basically my only plan now is to get used to the new dynamic and take it from there. In the meantime I want to stay at NL10 and not drop down ideally.

I wish you all great June in both poker and real life :f_drink:

Amazing view mate! That's definitely +EV for mindset =D

Keep fighting at NL10, these kind of swings are completely normal and being card dead happens all the time. The best thing you can do is just focus on each hand and make sure you are playing them unaffected by emotions from the session.

If it helps, I specifically remember losing 10BI in the space of 900 hands back when I was at NL10. At the time it traumatised me, but as time goes on you realise it is just part of the game

Aaaand here we go again. The new regime is on. Commuting to work 3 times a week 100km there and back is much more bearable than I thought it would be. Maybe it is because its all new but so far so good. I havent been in a major traffic jam so far. Will see how I will be talking after that happens :f_biggrin: Those 3 days are pretty much gone because when I return at around 7 p.m. after 13 hours I just want to eat dinner, watch a TV show and go to sleep. But the rest of the week is just great. And its worth it. On Monday and Friday I just roll out of bed at 10:00 and start working :f_biggrin:

But pokerwise, things are not going so well. To be more exact things are not going at all :f_cry: I have been fighting with motivation to play for the last over 2 weeks. I guess the corona hype is over, things are going back to being more social, especially back here in our home town where we have all our relatives, many friends etc. And I have played exactly 0 hands since my last post. I also started to go to the gym again finally, to the pub etc. which furthermore reduces my free time.

In addition to that I have realized that I am one step away from doing quite well in my current job. If I manage to climb up one more step on the corporate ladder (which could happen in a year or two) I could be making like triple the average salary in CZ and have a company car (which is the best type of a car :f_biggrin:). I cant see that happening in poker any time soon.

So there goes my motivation and energy to focus on something so mentally demanding and with an unclear outlook as poker. I am not saying I quit just yet but to be honest I find it difficult to find a long-term place for poker in my life. Not to mention that we will have a kid in a few months...

Congrats!!! 9 months will fly by pretty quickly. One of the best experiences of life is being a dad [Source: myself]. However, I should also add that:
