At first I thought you are totally loco and have been watching too much Inception or Matrix or stuff like that, but yea that sounds good.

Maybe you are not crazy after all, unless you go ahead and say in the stream that Stars wants to get rid of their most profitable customers.

Would there be interest in having "The Hidden truths of Variance" One-off special stream guys?

We're talking actual ways it happens people don't realize, mental game, hand examples of variance impacts, some sick bad beats posted by members, mindset after beats, wins etc. And also thinking that sites are rigged.
Like the post or reply here and we'll make it happen if there's enough interest

Just wanted to chime in here and say I'd love to see this. I do have a video on variance I recently submitted as Tony kindly points out, but it's tourney-only and focuses on the quantitative aspects so I don't think there'd be much overlap with what you're planning Lemon. That would make for an awesome stream!

Knowing the quantitative aspects does help a lot with the mindset, so thanks for submitting that video!

Thanks everybody for the comments. Some of them were helpful, others just rude. But that's how it is in general life as well.

The stuff adelaar says makes most sense. I am Dutch, yes, but I do not identify with the Dutch way of living or the society in The Netherlands.

There also was a guy who called me an idiot at first, and later on he thought I was a comedian. LOL! Now that is a clown.

The answers of mods and coaches are usually in favor of the rooms, so they are not neutral. Nevertheless they do have value, since they are experienced and often skilled in the game.

Once more, in variance you can hide a lot, better yet...everything.

I do have a feeling that a lot of things aren't OK in this world in general (though the RNGs of all the poker rooms I've played at are actually OK and fairer than mankind)... but it's the only world that's available to me, and it's not worse than nothingness.

The RNG is actually a patient being: though it won't let AA win with probability 100% even if you buy flowers for the whole Stars staff, it will still let AA beat KK with probability 81% or 82% (I don't bother to remember) even if you curse at it with the dirtiest words every minute.

Well personally I did run on stars 1000 avg. bin below EV in one year (in sng, 2014) but probably not because of rigged site. Still made decent profit but by running to EV it would have been double the amount. So kind of blah year.

Previous year played some in there with constant bad run though sample this time was non existent (less than 500 games). EV was on positive side but results went down like 30 degree slope, lol.

So my personal run and mainly because of stars way to screw regs made me to vote with my legs and support other sites.

Hi everyone. English is my second language so take that into consideration :)
I am having like 6, 7 times in a row 90-95% winning hand before river card (we went "all in" most often after flop), and every single time I lost. I mean, how can those be bad luck or skilless hands ?

I'm actually very surprised that no one has talked about the rake yet

The fact that OP talked about being down *hundreds* of dollars over ten years and not tens of thousands, means its actually likely he was better than his average opponent at micro stakes. Unfortunately, the rake is so high at micros that it's not good enough that you are marginally better than your opponents, the rake will eat all your profits up.

So no, Pokerstars isn't a scam. They charged you hundreds of dollars over 10 years for the entertainment of playing on their site. They didn't owe you a profit just because you were better than your opponents. It's one of many reasons why there are almost no stories of someone spinning it up from micro stakes to the high stakes - pretty much all the pros that made it out of the micros did it years ago when micros weren't just a massive raketrap.

And fwiw, this is coming from someone who has been playing full time for 10 years and every penny I've earned originated from the free $50 bankroll on this site all those years ago starting at the micros.

Hi
I've been playing n poker stars for 3 months . I play live poker alot. Just came to online to try some and found these online poker to find out specially pokerstars are only cheaters. At first when you go in they will be giving you all sort of winning , withdrawal everything is fine . After you reach a certain threshold you can't even win a single penny from their table. With your best of the best hands you will lose. With all the best pot odds you will lose. So o found this suspicious and created a second account to check whether it have some kind of bot or what . To my suprise iam winning my trash cards n my new account each and every time man ! Someone else out there like losing all time .. Same again after withdrawal what happened to my first account started happening here too .. Man they need to be inviting players and make new players to win and deposit because they shouldn't leave the game . This is their trick . And when we think to quit suddenly we will win like a big all in with trash cards again lol .. fucking cheaters !! Avoid !!

Creating 2nd account is against the T&C so you are also a cheater.

Poker is rigged in general! Look at wsop main event... Chris Moneymaker's run and that chap who fell a sleep on final table and still finished 2nd. If you want a fair game play solitaire or chess!
Just my 2 cents

Variance can be cruel and long run can be unattainable. At least to me stars has been good example of that. Would guess I have played 4-5M hands on stars. Mainly sng.

Results were something around 35-40k$ below $EV results. In average buyins that would be somewhat over 1000 buyins. So yeah there is always probability that luck doesn't even out in big sample. Now EV is just one luck component but those other components have likely evened out during millions of hands.
