According to the table indeed, but that really can't be true... can it?

If I remember correctly the nose bleed cashgames on full tilt had max $3 rake cap.

I can remember seeing Antonius, Blom, Ivey etc playing PLO $1.5k/3k there with a .50c cap.

GoodGame GGPoker, after next fish buffet you finally convinced me to go away. with reducing PVI factor up to 0.1 for winners recently changing the rake structure to 5% X cap for PLO you guys need to beat about 13bb/100 rake rate. rakeback/bonus/fishbuffet included! gl

PVI 0.1 means 40% becomes 4%. Same that Stars gives. Seems that the 4% is becoming a standard at big sites.

Both have non-transparent rake system, and it's impossible to get the details. GG has PVI and stars has their own which gives different costs for chests.

But both pay to pro players to promote them in Twitch, and sponsor pro players world wide.

So in a way they sell a dream to become that pro, but at the same time say that pros are not welcome.

Not sure i take them at their word on that part when they run leaderboards clearly aimed at grinders as recreational players don't play 15+ hours a day.Although the leaderboards are designed in such a way to maximize rake because they incentivize people to play like maniacs to rack up the points early doors.

Yeah, it's so weird that the CEO says "if you are looking to make a living out of poker, GG is not the place for you and we will make everything we can to make it hard for you". At the same time they have leaderboards and Pro players as faces of GG poker.

But it seems to work. All this and the latest shitshow about banning player and stealing $130K doesn't seem to make them unpopular.

Poker players are like the proverbial stray dog you can kick them and they keep coming back with their tails wagging.

Lack of options is the reason imo. If somehow RIO or Party would become as big Stars it would have affect on them.

I don't understand why people don't choose options like ipoker over big sites like pokerstars and GG.On some of the skins you can get 35% flat rakeback + 10% extra from rake races plus additional bonuses like missions. They only charge 5% rake so the same as the big sites yet people just avoid those networks i find it strange. It needs some big named players to get on the other platforms and start pushing those deals to players. But then the big players are going to go with the big sites that offer them the best deals and the big shame is those sites tend to stiff the average player.

For some strange reason, I cannot play on iPoker skins from Canada.
There are 7 different sites I can play on. Only 888 is left that is tracked by PokerStrategy.com
Of the other 6, only two are PokerStrategy.com affiliates, and I'm not tracked on them, since I had accounts there before I joined PokerStrategy.com or before they affiliated.

All poker rooms have some sort of "responsible gaming" program, yet almost all of them have other programs that encourage excessive play.
These include leaderboards, volume promotions, rakeback "levels" and so on.

I'm an unabashed recreational player. I enjoy the game. I would enjoy it a lot less if I consistently lost -- yet this doesn't seem to bother some players.

For me recreational player doesn't describe anyone's ability as a player as you know ive watched you play a lot and consider you a very good mixed games player far from what most people consider to be the typical recreational player. You're either a good player or a bad player or somewhere in'between id like to think of myself as somewhere in'between these days but still with far to much to learn after years of playing the game. :f_mad: .
I was a losing player for years but let's say a winning player on average wins around 55% of time a losing player can lose 60% or 70% of the time but the 30% or 40% win rate keeps you coming back and keep the enjoyment for the game going. It's not like the so called recreational losing player loses every hand or session they play.

RIO Restricted countries:

Afghanistan, Italy,Australia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Belgium, Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Bulgaria , Singapore, Colombia, Slovakia, Czech Republic , Slovenia, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea , Spain, Denmark , Sweden, Estonia, Switzerland, France and all French Territories, Syria, State of Schleswig-Holstein in Germany, Uganda, Greece , All United States of America States and Territories, Guyana , Yanatu, Iran, Yemen, Iraq

Quite hard for RIO to become as big as stars when so many countries are restricted, most of which are 3rd world countries where low-stakes poker is a viable alternative profession.

Party can become big if sites like this one help it. Sadly, on first page we get mostly info about the "exclusive" freerolls for first time depositors on stars.

You've read the statement made by GG addressing "this latest shitshow"?

I have. It might be that GG's security was so bad that they allowed banned player to vefiry his account, or not. The thing that doesn't create transparency is banning players without showing them the evidence. They have been telling players to stop playing at GG network because of predatory behaviour, without explaining what they have actually done. It's like getting a ticket from a police, that says "not obeying the law" without any explanation about the actions that caused the ticket. That would sound absurd, wouldn't it?

For rakeback, telling players their PVI would be transparent.

I understand GG's approach, and limiting the amount and pace that winning players take out is said to make the environment better for recreationals. What it does, it makes grinders to rake more. Winners will be winners, and recreational will lose their money as fast as with "normal" rakeback. The amount I get rakeback doesn't affect my opponent's losing rate at all.

I have talked with regs that play at GG, and pretty much none of them had realized how the PVI and rakeback works. Of course GG doesn't explain it as good as they can, as it's bad PR. The information about PVI is probably hidden somewhere in the T&C or a small print at the bottom of a page. There is a thin line between lying and hiding information imo.
