I could log in just fine now.
They did mention that their Terms and Conditions have been updated a week ago, but I don't think that should affect you, because I had a look at some tables and saw some Canadian flags.
It seems to have been a DNS problem at my end -- though why 888Poker.com should fail and no others puzzled me.
The only thing I can think of is the regionalised servers that 888 use for logins. They are the only site I know of that uses it. There would be a Canadian or North American server which all traffic is directed through.
I have had this issue for about a week now.
888 support suggest clearing my cache and uninstalling and reinstalling their software and gave me some complicated method to ensure my player notes were transferred over.
Not done it as yet so can't confirm if it will work or not, I only look to play 888 when Coral crashes on me (once a week or so) as I am no longer tracked on 888.
Good luck!
I received the following instructions -- which were useless:
Thank you for contacting 888poker regarding the issues you've encountered while trying to login.
To fix the issue you will need to manually wipe the client. It can sound complicated, but you just need to follow these steps:
- Delete by hand [bin path]\[brand], e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\PacificPoker
- Delete by hand %appdata%\[brand], e.g. C:\Users\claudiuch\AppData\Roaming\pacificpoker
- This one is tricky: in registry take a look in all entries under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall, and find the one that contains the string value DisplayName = [brand], e.g.: screenshot attached
- Manually delete the key indicated by the arrowWe realise this might seem complicated, so if you require any assistance whatsoever, please don't hesitate to call us or contact via live chat and our agents will be happy to assist you with this matter.
Useless because it did not fix the problem.
The uninstall registry item did not exist.
"Call us or contact via live chat" is useless because there are no phone numbers and live chat does not appear to exist.
I can connect fine using my phone.
On my computer, all parts of the client work except for logging in
The funny part is that the instructions do not even mention re-installing.
I have not yet tried to follow the instructions I received which were as follows -
"After reading your email and understanding the nature of your technical issues, I suggest that you re-install our software.
If you wish to keep your current player notes, please carry out the following:
1. Stop the 888poker software (if running)
2. Copy and save (back-up) the following file to a preferred location on your computer:
C:\Users\PC_USERNAME\Documents\888poker\888_USERNAME\UserSettings.xml
3. Once saved, go back to the original folder: C:\Users\PC_USERNAME\Documents\888poker\888_USERNAME\
• Notes.xml
• Notes.xml.bak
• QuickNotes.json
• QuickNotes.json.bak
4. Delete Notes.xml
5. Delete QuickNotes.json
6. Rename Notes.xml.bak to Notes.xml
7. Rename QuickNotes.json.bak to QuickNotes.json
8. Open the UserSettings.xml file located in: C:\Users\PC_USERNAME\Documents\888poker\888_USERNAME\
9. Search for <NotesSyncPerformed>1</NotesSyncPerformed>
10. Replace with <NotesSyncPerformed>0</NotesSyncPerformed>
11. Save and close the UserSettings.xml file
Note: Upon reinstalling the new poker software, your previous player notes will now be converted and merged automatically.
**********************************************************************************************************
To re-install our software, remove the current version of 888poker from your computer as follows:
1. Within your ‘Control Panel’, double-click the ‘Add/Remove Programs’ icon.
2. Click 888poker from the list of installed applications and select ‘Add/Remove Programs’ (wording may vary depending on the version of Microsoft Windows).
3. Follow the steps displayed on your screen. When all these steps are completed, the application will be removed from your computer.
Despite having carried out the procedure above, there are a few files that still need to be deleted from your system. These are located within C:\program files and are deleted as follows:
1. Open ‘My Computer’ and click the C:\ hard drive icon.
2. Open the ‘Program Files’ folder.
3. Right click the 888poker folder.
4. Select ‘Delete’ from the dropdown list.
5. Having deleted the folder, click START > PROGRAMS and right click the 888poker icon.
6. Select ‘Delete’ from the dropdown list.
These steps ensure that ALL files belonging to the application are completely removed from your computer.
Finally, please download/re-install 888poker from our website at https://www.888poker.com
If you require further assistance with this or any other matter, please feel free to contact us."
Far too much to have to do just to be able to play a little poker!
Good luck
Oddly, those instructions are slightly different than the once I received.
Perhaps the clients are slightly different depending on region.
at 12:53 Local (19:53 UTC) the login worked.
I had been repeatedly attempting every few minutes since about 10:00 local, and finally it worked with no further intervention.
So for now, I'll log in and never log off unless forced.
Cheers,

Don't they automatically log you off for inactivity after a while, at least if you don't click some "I'm still here" button in a popup window?
they do.
now on ps.eu ps.es and party poker too.
party poker is so clever they put period in the inactivity window.
as in woman bleeding from her vagina.
very funny sense of humor from partypoker.
888 does not appear to have an inactivity timeout at present -- at least for this region

They did for me, when I was watching a tournament's lobby on 888 during my regular session on Stars. I had to remind them that I wished to stay logged in every 30 minutes or so.
After my reply telling them that their instructions didn't work, they replied and said that there was system maintenance at that time.
I had told them exactly what had happened and when.
Since then, I've had no troubles at any time of day.
In future, I'll just be patient (yeah, right) and wait.
Cheers,

I am having the same problem from last 25 days. server is down try after sometime. I am playing on online version at the moment.I have tried everything allowed this program from firewell and allowed the ports they have mentioned. I have uninstalled and installed 15 times.nothing worked for me. I wrote to their support also but no reply. other poker rooms and casinos are working properly on my computer.
Hi rusty98,
I posted the above almost a year ago.
There have been occasional outages since, but in general, it has been working well.
At the time I had the problem, it was related to something to do with my ISP (I'm in Canada)
Here are two different sets of instructions, both received by different members from 888 support.
Be sure to do the backup tasks in the second link before doing anything drastic.
You could try the instructions here: https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=3074645#post3074645
There are slightly different ones here: https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=3074677#post3074677
If either one of them fixes the problem, please let us know...

today i have problem like this .Can't login 888 poker on my computer but on my phone it ok .How can i fix it
worst thing is, that 888 does not reimburse accordingly (not even in accordance with their TOS) for poker tournaments cancelled due to server outage on 888 poker's end.

Hi uwebommel666,
I suggest that you contact 888 support.
Use the Help menu item in the client, then choose "online help", then scroll all the way to the bottom and use the "Contact Us" button.
Provide details of the tournament you were in at the time of the server problems, your user name and so on.
You can attach files such as screenshot and so on if it will help -- and if you have them...
Best of luck :gl:,

Hi VorpalF2F,
yes I have been in contact with support for over a week, and it has been a pain.
Not only do they not reimburse automatically, like any other poker site I play on, but also they do not follow their TOS when trying to reimburse.
We exchanged approx. 20 E-Mails, in which there was a different person answering each time, and clearly not reviewing what had been discussed in the mails before and thus coming back with standard answers.
First approach from them was just to give an amount which was way lower then the buy ins at the table, then reimbursing the buy-ins without taking into consideration rebuys / add-ons, and substracting already achieved bounties from the buy in.
Nothing from taking into consideration reimbursing ur part in the prize pool from players that have already been eliminated.
After approx. the 20th mail and more then a week later, finally a support agent actually reviewed the case, realized that too little money in buy-ins had been reimbursed, and also realizing that in accordance with their TOS they also have to pay out part of the prize pool. This they will now validate with another department which will take another 5 days.
However, at least a step in the right direction.
Overall, a very dissatisfying, unprofessional and shady approach taking by the support, obviously hoping that the player just gives up and says that its not worth the effort.

I had a similar experience, and not only did a different person answer, they gave conflicting interpretations of the policy.
I think that they're trained to respond in different ways, and have cut-and-paste responses prepared for certain situations.
I agree that it is sad, because overall, I quite like 888
