1st hand you should have folded to the raise on the flop. Even tho we where ahead now we know what villain was holding.

Other two are just bad luck indeed.
Keep in mind, you'll hit these outers also in the long run. So just play solid, out in volume and those bad beats will even out.

Vaillain called the 3bet, so if we put all suited connectors, Axs, AQ, maybe AK and some pocket pairs in that range. Do you really like you're equity?
Seems like their is a lot in villains range that can hit and will beat us when it hits..

Equity isn't the only thing to look at. Sometimes you could have 70% equity against a range and you should still fold, because calling is EV- (for instance, if you play a satellite tournament, you're 2nd in chips, 20 paid, it's the bubble and the CL in SB shoves on your BB, you should fold even if you have very high equity).

Here, if we have 30% equity, we should call, because it's profitable. We risk 58 to win the final pot of 195.

So, suppose we have 30%:

30% of the time we win (195-58) = 137 and
70% of the time we lose 58
The EV of a call with 30% equity is: 0.3*137-0.7*58 = 41.1 - 40.6 = 0.5bb. Since the EV of the fold is 0, calling when we have 30% equity is profitable.

Yes, it is a good thing to not have the J♣:: we unblock A♣:J♣:, K♣:J♣:, Q♣:J♣: and J♣:T♣:, that are all hands that villain could 3b/call 4b and bluff us with, so we're happy that villain can have it in his range. When you add some A♣:K♣:, A♣:Q♣:, K♣:Q♣:, some SCs, the occasional TT-, we really have to call this one, despite running vs QQ+ some of the time.

The reverse is also sometimes true -- to make a call with very low equity.
For example, on GGPoker, there is a big hand jackpot -- I have called a shove w/ a two-outer because hitting either out would result in a straight flush, with a very +EV jackpot to be gained.
I have hit it at least once.

first hand is trivial, there's a lot of money in the pot and we are only dead against better overpairs (5-bet preflop?) and 67. flushdraw+overcards (especially Axcc) are about 60% favourites against our hand, but it doesn't matter, pot odds.
villain can also have mid pairs that are waiting for a "good flop" and jam it, lower flushdraws, Ax without flushdraw, who knows. the main question is whether we actually should 4-bet preflop and get it in, or just fold pre, expecting a nitty 3-bet-continue range - villain dependant.

Nice hand -- it took me a few seconds to realize why your open raise was over 4BB, then I saw the antes.
Villain's call on the turn makes some sense -- decent pair and a gutshot, but the call on the river is rather strange.

Is this normal for NL 25?
