Hi Guys,

Because of the news about Online poker in Germany I had an idea to offer my help for community members to settle down in the beautiful island MALTA. If you are thinking about leaving Germany to play professionally or if you are just bored in your country and you want to make some new experience, Malta is the place!

First things first, let me introduce myself. My name is Hakan and I'm 32 years old. I'm playing Poker just for fun and I live in Malta since March 2016. Since then I worked for Evolution gaming as a Blackjack and Roulette Dealer in the Live Casinos. After that I went to Pokerstars to work as a Sportsbook Specialist. After a few months there I decided to join the new and interesting casino Wunderino & Hyperino.

In 2018 and 2019 I organized events in the biggest clubs in Malta (Level 22, 1926 Beachclub, Gianpulla Village and Paceville). You can see my work on Gtmeventsmalta on Facebook and Instagram. Because of the Covid it was not possible to continue in 2020.

So my offer is:
You play professionally Poker: I help you to find a suitable apartment for you and your budget, I will help you with all the legal stuff (taxes, registration for residence card etc), show you the best spots (restaurants, bars, spots) and everything else what you need to start your new experience in Malta.

You play Semi professionally Poker: I will help you to find a nice and easy Job in the Gaming industry (Average salary without experience: 26k a year), Relocation package from the companies (flight and hotel for 2 weeks will be paid by the companies), after that I find you an apartment in your budget, help with all the legal things, show you the best spots and everything else what you need

I thought it could be an interesting option Guys. Let me hear your feedback please so I can improve my offer :)

Let me know if you have some questions about the Covid situation in Malta.

Thx

I have moved your thread to our International meeting place board.
There fits it better I think. Have fun in Malta and hopefully for you there isn't to much Covid-19.

Cheers,

Thanks buddy. The last days were a bit more than usually with the Covid but I have to say that Malta is doing a great job with the situation.

It's one advantage that it's a island. if you close the boarder it's easy to deal with it I guess.

That's true and of course we are around 500k people on this island so it should be easier to handle. For now we have to wear a mask outside, otherwise we get a fine. I think till the numbers will go down they will be more strict.

However if they close the border, it won't be possible to move there.
Catch-22

For now it is free when you make a living from online poker. The only thing is you have to prove to your home country that you live in Malta. If you work normal in a job and you have a big win you have to declare it in Malta which would mean 5% taxes. For the last part I will meet my account next week and confirm.

What about a trial visit, you need to tax with your own country?
And, if it is UK, there is not tax. Correct me if i am wrong.

If you live in Malta you don't pay taxes as a poker player. But how it is to get a residence card for people from UK I will have to ask my friend from work. He is from UK. I will update you in this.

Trial? Yes sure. Just hit me up on Instagram (Hakan.mlt) we will arrange something for you.
