I guess some of you may now me from the poker discussions but I suppose most of you don`t :f_biggrin:. First of all, I am going to write this blog mostly about myself, so I cannot guarantee about my English and if you`ll understand it.
My name is Petar and I am from Bulgaria. I graduated law this year and I am planning to work as a judge or lawyer in the next years. I had another job as a sport analyzer which I left two weeks ago. The reason to leave was that I was making more money from the poker than the job ( it was part time and not very well paid) and also to study for lawyers exam which will be November or December. I also play tennis semi-professionally ( I am amateur but play tournaments at least once or twice in a month and dream to become the best amateur player at least in my country). I also write a book about which name should be " Mental game of tennis" which also something I really want to finish and which also suggest about my interest in psychology.
I was planning to start this blog earlier, but didn`t want to do it when I am in a very good mood or when I run very well, because it was possible to get disappointed when the bad run come. So today I had maybe the worst session in my life or at least one of the worst, so it is a good day to start. :f_biggrin:. I had session where I lost 6.5 BI in 30 minutes. That really hurt and was not good.
So a few words about my poker journey. I play poker for an early age, but not seriously of course. I played a few years online where I busted a few bankrolls also not seriously. This year when the pandemic started and during the lockdown I decided it is the perfect time to improve my poker knowledge and become better player. First of all I bought a course from another site ( I don`t know if I can mention the name) with 30 videos which really really helped me. The guy had also a book which also very good and help me a lot. After that I got bought premium for another site and watched most of its content. I found it really interesting and useful, too. Then I read another book, which was not so helpful because it was mostly about life poker. After that I bought another cash game course, which everybody told me was the best course which exists ( I still haven`t watched the whole course).
In March I deposited 80$ in bet365 poker and started playing. I crushed 10 nl pretty easy as the players there were awful. However I had bigger problems on 20 nl and I spend 2 months there.
Since August I reached 50 nl and I am running not bad on it. I didn`t have so much time for play as I had a job and studied law but tried to play 2-3 hours per day. I have around 70k hands on the 50 nl and I have around 2 bb/100 which is not so good but I had some downswing the last days.
I guess the most important thing in creating a blog is to set a good goals and to achieve them. Elliot Roe says that the goals should be such that could be achieved. So I think it is a good Idea to set some goals in my first post:
1. My first goal is to take my lawyers exam which will be next few months ( I guess it doesn`t sound seriously in a poker site, but I spend around 6-7 hours per day studying law , around 4-5 hours playing poker and 1 hour playing poker, 1-2 hours playing tennis.)
2. My second goal is really to improve my mental game (as it is really important in poker, tennis even in law and will be helpful for my book).
3. The third goal my winnings for this and next month to be at least equal to these I would get on the job I left ( I know result oriented goals are not goals, but this really is not so big number)
4. 4th goal is to improve to around 3.5-4 bb 100 on 50nl and to make around 200k hands until the end of the year.
5. Fifth goal is to finish Alex Kanu`s course until the end of the year( even better until the end of November)
6. Sixth goal is to make a significant progress on my book, because that`s a problem too, because I need to read books and to improve my mentality to be able to write how other people can improve their mentality.
I would be absolutely surprised if anybody read half of this blog, but good luck to these at least to these, who read this message.
