That makes this hand a little bit more interesting I guess, but overall I like your play.
This board runs really bad for you and he can easy have a straight or trips in his range. Off course this is also a interesting spot to bluff on. Based on sizing this is a nuts or air spot in my opinion and you need to have some guts to hero call in these kind situations. Normal I would fold as well, but always interesting what others thinking as well.

Well played imo. Deeper stacks I would love to x-r river though 
When turn pairs we should have some full houses and also turned straights sometimes in our range so I think folding is fine.
I doubt villain would continue 98 on flop as hitting straight would be low end only. Some busted flush draws are most natural bluffs. Possibly some Tx.
