Yeah, lights for streaming. Teddy doesn't have a name, just with a text "solver is a pussy" in the shirt

Tested office today with a stream, and it was a good session at Partypoker. Played a little later at home, and solid +16 buyin day.

At PLO25 FF pool players have changed a little, but still it amazes me how regs can play preflop that horribly. 3betting way too loose, and making some questionable post flop plays. Like the one who raised my 1/3 cbet on monoboard in 3bet pot with just 2nd nutflush blocker. I called, and he decided to shove the turn. Not sure what he was thinking, but haven't seen that optimistic bluff in a while.

If you have watched the streams, you know the latest news and things. If not, then you should. These classical blogs are a dying breed, Discord and Twitch is taking over.

Party is closing leaderboards, which sucks. It was easy $80 a day from it. Their new hot table (or whatever it is) is just another splash/cash drop. Interesting to see how much money they are going to give and how. But I am quite sure that the value is not as good as from the leaderboards. Unless the party splash is very good, no reason to play there as the rake is a bit high and fast poker is always reg heavy. So decided to go back to RIO, and start streaming enough to get StreamR rakeback bonus. Started well, today the only stake running was PLO50. Got some aggros all over the place, and lost 5,5 buyins. That hurts PLO20 bankroll.

Also started to study solver strategy in scheduled manner. Creating a spreadsheet with all the different flops and flop frequencies, from different positions. Going to be a lot of numbers, but doing that definitely helps. And after that it is easier to compare my own exploitative sims to normal ones. Plan is to stream cash games every afternoon (cet times), unless I am unavailable.

You might want to mark 27th Saturday to your calendar. I am starting a monthly Saturday Studygame and it will be my stream 2y anniversary at the same time! That means giveaways and party!

Studygame is a combination of homegame and learning. In PLO Order ( https://www.kyyberi.com/plo-order) members get weekly strategy video for free. Selected hands from studygame (as many as possible) will be reviewed and analyzed in following week's PLO Order video. Game is PLO4 with added rakeback, so monetary issue wouldn't prevent anyone from joining. Goal is that everyone plays as good PLO as they can, as then the material is most suitable for learning. So in a nutshell it's a free opportunity to get your gameplay reviewed!

More info about the giveaways and such coming up!

Had a drunk PLO stream at Thursday. Had fun, but also not-that-fun when lost a lot to a maniac who kept hitting everything. I can't remember exactly what happened but I think I lost a lot

But something good came out from that, as I also raked a lot. Won RIO leaderboard at PLO10 for 200e prize and that rake helped me to get extra 60e from their booster promotion.

If I play while drinking, it's always for fun and I expect it to be -EV. So losing in that session doesn't even bother me, no regards. :f_drink:

Tested today my PVI at GG, it's about 0,3-0,4. That turns 45% rakeback (what I would get with daily grind) into 15%-20%. That sucks, but if I can make decent prize from leaderboards that might be the best place for me. Which kinda sucks, as I have always been very critical about shadyness and non-transparency to GG. And I still am, but if you have to make a living you need to play where the money is.

Also started to listen Mental Game of Poker 2 again, it has been a while and the topics haven't touched my life that much earlier. Now they do.

Also, next Saturday is my stream 2y anniversary. In the evening I also host Studygame at RIO ( https://www.kyyberi.com/studygame). It's also part of RIO's PLO appreciation week, so all of you PLO maniacs tune in! https://www.runitonce.eu/promotions/plo-appreciation-week/

And don't forget Wednesday PLO Primetime, everything you need to know about preflop in PLO!

I don't make hero calls that often, but when I do...

Spoiler

Things get interesting on the Turn. There is a fd in the board, so QJ should bet very often (I would expect almost always), so I bet for value/protection. Opponent pulls a rabbit and check-raises, which is weird line. Important to understand is that I will never have QJ here, which is always a problem when betting mediocre hand on blank turns after checking back flop. Versus good opponents (who can do that c-raise) it backfires a lot, but versus the field it's ok. Most opponents never play back there with bluffs.

He knows I don't have straight, I know he knows and I know he shouldn't have straight. But is my hand good enough to shove over? Would have to see KTJx type of hand. And in case he somehow has QJxx, or a set, I have decent equity. So call, and re-evaluating River.

River is a 6, which is not a blank one. It fills 87xx straight, which means that I have stronger hands now in my range than on 2, for example. If he has KT, K9 type of hand he would not pot it imo. So his pot is very polarized. At least it should be. Even hand like KK that c-raised for value (rightfully so) might check-call here instead of potting. In my turn calling range I can easily have combodraws, and 6 completes all decent straight draws. Versus polarized range any 2 pair has almost the same relative hand strength.

Another factor is my intuition felt like he was bluffing. I have talked about that for many times, and I have learned to trust it.

I hope opponent marked me as a calling station, without thinking his own line.

My stream has 2Y anniversary next Saturday, and oh boy do we have a party! There will be giveaways for free Vision, free RIO Essential, almost free PokerJuice Cloud, t-shirts, teddy bears and much more!

The common theme in all is that you need Kyybucks (my stream currency) to buy raffle tickets at Saturday. You can get lots of them in PLO Vision Quizzies, hosted every day until Saturday. You can see the schedule and info at https://www.kyyberi.com/2-year-party

If you wish to get extra Kyybucks for Quizzes, just go to twitter and retweet this one: https://twitter.com/Coach_Kyyberi/status/1374384325831970818

See you all at PLO Primetime tomorrow, and Party at Saturday! :f_love::f_drink:

Honeymoon is over, after a good start lost 14 buyins today. Bad run in all-ins, bad setups, multiple times 95% of stack in with set vs 2 pairs, losing on the river etc. The usual. But still nice to see that the only way opponents can take my money is by making bad calls or setting up.

Catch of the day:

Spoiler

Open from BTN, SB calls. Cbetting flop with TPTK+gutshot, backdoor fd. He calls. Turn gives me the 2nd nuts with nfd, I bet and he makes a quick raise. We are deep, around 250bb. I just call, and on the river he makes realyl quick pot.

Quick donk on the turn could be 64, but for that to pot quickly on the river it would require him to read the board wrongly. As 86 gets there, and it is in my range. He could have 864 type of hand, but that would think for a while on the river, and probably wouldn't go for pot. Quick bet is often either stone cold, unbreakable nuts, or a bluff. It means that either opponent doesn't need to think or he is under pressure. And psychologically we want to get rid of that pressure as soon as possible, that's why you see people making bluffs without a proper thinking process.

We are not blocking hearts, which is big thing in here too, giving him a lot more natural hands to go bananas with.

And pure banana he had.

The most weird way to play a hand

Spoiler

3bet here is a bit wider than normal, and I am not quite sure whether it's a lot better than call. Definitely +EV vs. these opponents.

Opponent just calls, and I flop the nuts. Just potted it, to be able to shove non-spade turns. He snap calls, and snap calls my turn shove. Drawing dead. And when I saw his hand, I wondered how bad it is to play AA that way 100bb deep? Or what makes him think that calling 3bet with a hand that most of the times misses the flop is better than making quaranteed +EV 4bet? Of course if he is sure I have AA he could just call, but I would assume he had payed enough attention to see that my 3bet range is not just AAxx.

My advice to all PLO players is never call 3bet with AA 100bb deep. Always 4bet it. Period.

I really, really need to remember that when a) bluffing and when b) I'm facing a river bet.

Nice hands

Not sure if I should be happy or not. Balance is staying at breakeven, while facing setup after setup, suckout after suckout. Nut boat vs quads, people calling pot raises on the turn with 3 outers and ending up with nuts vs my 2nd nuts, losing both runs on flips and one run to one outers etc.

Could be worse, with this run I could be down a lot.

Catch of the day:

Spoiler

Open, call, flopped nuts. Bet, opponent calls. Donks turn. And goes big on the river. I have been thinking about opponent's line, and not sure whether it is genious or spew.

Problem is that in general people don't donk turns. Of course strategy-wise 74 should donk a lot in these stakes to protect the hand. Majority of pool will check back everything but the 74 here in my shoes, so with such a good blockers and nfd as backup there is definitely good logic behind opponent's donk. The only problem is, no one believes in donks. 4 on the river is a bit weird to go big. 87xx definitely in my range, would 74 go that big? If not, he is repping 874x which is surely possible. But once again, that river bet came really quickly (see the hand on previous post).

Luckily for me, I have no hearts and one 7 in my hand. If I didn't have 7 and one heart, it would be a bit tougher spot.

Catch of the day 2:

Spoiler

Cash drop pot, on the flop I stabbed. I don't like the stab that much, although in those cash drop pots there seems to be a bit different dynamics in the way people play hands. But in 4way pot, I don't think the stab has enough FE.

Turn gives me 2 pairs, and river boats me up. Opponent decided to call my river half a pot bet with 8. Not sure what he thought I have with that line. For sure, I am very polarized on the river. But to be honest, he probably should fold the flop there when someone bets 4way with dry oesd.

Stream curse is real.

Streamed morning session, down few buyins. Nothing worked, nothing held and nothing hit. Session after the stream was exact opposite.

I like how opponent seized the opportunity:

Spoiler

Casual 3bet, flopping nuts and potting, turn SPR 1 (20 cents above) and potting and opponent called.

I was already thinking at that time how annoying it is if the spade comes. Opponent made an expert move of calling without odds (probably doesn't care for them) and then donk-shoved 20 cents on River. Realizing disconnection FE!!!

One of the sickest holds for a while:

Spoiler

We are deep with Kash but I am IP and he is a bit call happy, 3betting decent Aces. He goes for 4bet, and I was like "fuck this...". If he has AA, then bingo has the best equity and the whole situation sucks. If I call it would be SPR 2,3. Still would have to get it in on most flops. So decided to just pot it, but not sure if that is the right play. Assuming Kash has AAxx.

Kash just calls, which was surprising, and flop came A high. Damn!

Kash shoves and I was thinking "please want to run it twice!". He didn't, but I manage to hold and scoop a nice little pot!

I found this funny.

Spoiler

Opponent is aggro, and we are 140bb deep. Called with somewhat bad Aces, flopped nicely, overpair, nfd, gs and bottom pair. Went for check-raise and opponent called. Turn was THE card, giving me Royal Flush. Now the problem was how to get value? I block K flush, and when he calls the flop bet flushes are somewhat small in his range. Of course T98 type of hands are there and if he has bottom straight flush money goes in easily. If I bet, he might call with 9 high flush, but if I check he might even bet it. As my flop raise looks like a set/QJ too, decided to check and see what he does. SPR is under 1,5.

He goes for small stab, and again I was wondering if I should call or just raise. If I raise, he should fold pretty much everything but 9s8s. And that bet looks like he is saving ammunition for the river bet. I called, checked the river and hoped he would bet indeed. He instashoved, I called and was a bit surprised that he didn't have a single spade in hand. He really put me on a set and tried to make me fold it.
