Best place to travel this spring season

Spring is almost here, Covid is fading, got my vaccines, itching to take a long solo trip. My starting date would be around April 15th. I want to plan a trip that goes from St. Louis to San Francisco to Las Vegas and back. I am looking at available time to be about 12 days on the road (not including 2 day layovers each in San Francisco, Las Vegas), a total 16 day trip. If I can squeeze a day or two in Utah national parks, it would be great.

I prefer scenic drives and natural scenic sites, not interested in historical sights.

Is it doable? Suggested routes?

I think this is quite doable and I would first take a walk on google maps before building a route

Not sure how long those vaccines are working, but I don't life in the USA.
I would try to keep away from crowded places and stay in the same state or country.

Time is short for that distance!

Things I've seen that I highly recommend:
:diamond:  The Grand Canyon (really close to Vegas, so quite doable) The North rim viewpoint is the only one I've seen. It is so large that the drive from the North to South viewpoints took too long. If I were to do it again, I would start with the South -- it is a National park.
:diamond:  Hoover Dam. Short stop between the Grand Canyoun and Vegas
:diamond:  Death Valley. From Vegas, head west, and since it is another national park, it won't cost you money again if you went to the Grand Canyon South Rim. From there you can bypass LA and head up to SF through wine country.
:diamond:  Route 66. If you plan your trip carefully, you can take lots of side routes that were (or maybe still are) part of route 66. So many little historic places, old fashioned (ie '50s) stores and fascinating things to see.

Thanks for the tips guys! I'll make sure to stay away from crowded places as much as possible. Your tips Vorpal are the best, I'll see what adjustments I can do with it!
