Villain: 21/14 (large sample)

Preflop: Villain calls 3bet IP, so capped range, TT-22, suited broadways, suited connectors, suited aces mostly.

Flop: Villain has all the sets here, flush draws, overcards, TT-99, all in all quite a few hands that he can continue with. I think I have to bet bigger to protect my hand.

Turn: Blank, except for 56s and 88. Betting bigger now for protection and value.

River: Villain has less than potsize left. Hands that villain might call with that I beat: TT-99, AJs, KJs, QJs, TJs.
I don't think villain would check behind with a hand that beats me. I also can't fold if villain bets, can I?

As you mentioned out

Bet bigger on the flop

This is for value and protection.

the EV for a 25, 33 or 50% bet is very similar on that board.

I guess you can get it in more easy on the River if betting a bit bigger

It is more likely to call half pot than 2/3 pot Not having a strong hand
