Greatpk was probably referring to natural variance in those sports. E.g. ice hockey has good chunk of luck involved in single match. One team might have control most of time but fails to make goal. Other team gets rare shot toward goal and puck happens to bounce from someone skate and ends in goal. But if same teams play best from 7 or something better team will more likely win in the end.

Poker is about using the situation more effectively and select those situations better than your opponents. Huge edge are often gained especially in small stake by simply understanding preflop hand selection in solid way. Even if postflop is very ABC poker. Sure bad players playing too wide preflop and calling gutshots will more often suckout but they also have chances for that way way more often than solid reg who doesn't even get to those spots. That's also ok and thats what winning players need. Why would recreational player continue playing if they always lost? Variance In poker is reason we play this game for money. I would imagine playing chess for money out of some tournament probably won't work as opponent would have quickly good idea of skill difference.

Basic understanding of game and deep understanding are two very different things. That is also beauty of poker. Read bit of rules and you are ready to play the game and have chance to beat anyone in short term.

I though about 25 OTT very very thin, because he is so nitty!
Most prob AQ or AK, could be FH.

It is true, that the sample isn't enough to provide PFI and/or AF accuracy, but we are talking about 11/out of 62 hands raised and in those 11 hands 17PFI/21% ATS, 100% F3B 2/2 and 0.5 AF looks super nutty! + the pools tendencies, that are pretty passive post in general! + folds 2/2 to 3b with such tight looking stats!
+ look at the board! I am 3b as a bluff Preflop, so from that point I don't expect to be called from worst from him!
If I go optimistic I expect him to call me with 88-QQ, ATs+, this is why I bet OTF for thin value vs ATs and pockets! Not sure if he continues with pockets at all OOP in Ah! Lets say optimistically ,that he have TT-QQ with S 9cs and ATs+ 8cs pretty optimistically, he has almost never AT with those stats! I cannot expect to call me 2nd time OTT with his pockets 99-QQ, but 88 and his Ax which are most probably AQs+ if we continue to be pretty optimistic ATs+,88 and even vs such optimistic range we have almost 27%, that makes it pure check OTT!
So OTR what exactly bet 3/4 that we beat with 0.5 AF? We are having 27% equity OTT when we go optimistic

Equity Win Tie
CO 78.57% 71.43% 7.14% { 88, ATs+ }
BU 21.43% 14.29% 7.14% { AcJs }

and he snap bets 3/4 to us with such nutty looking stats when our E is even worst OTR! Well it is actually a pure snap fold;)
If he check again OTR I will go for value!

First of all he doesn't bet 3/4 but 2/3 (roughly 65%) of the pot OTR so you have higher than 27% equity. Also villain will value bet ATs after being checked back OTT. Checking back Turn is a good play, but folding river isn't. And fold to 3bet stat is pretty much useless here as villain faced 3bet only twice and he could of simply had tried to steal or open with marginal hand that will fold vs a 3bet, so you can't make decisions based on this stat on such a small sample.

What the size have to do with the Equity? Nothing!

we have 27% OTT with AT included and river fevors him , so we are falling to 21% with AT included! And this is the optimistic variant, because he is probably never having AT at all OOP!;) ATs, AJs should be 4bF or F pre OOP what is probably the case and if so we are running to the J OTT with 4% E and we are dead OTR:)

GL to zoom! :f_drink: in zoom you have to be a very good player already if want to profit

game is more complex than you think and there is million way to play it to make profit :) one example is if blind folding too much, you just steal and do nothing else even with aces or shove all in is better then off course

Mate, the best decision you can make right now is to take a pause from poker. At least a few months. I am looking how you have played many of your lost hands, and you deserved it 100%. Also, considering you believe poker is all about luck, I understand that behind the decisions you make, stands your pure intuition and mood. Thank God, you and such guys exist, and they play poker.

My friend, let's just discuss about poker skills.

The point is, that I read every single comment since page 20, and can say that this guy has exactly the same mentality as I did, not so long time ago. And I know that this might be changed... After grinding a lot, with such an agressive style, after 2-3 months, people are just so sick and tired of bad beats, that their brain can't think clearly. You just don't see what you are missing. You simply can't see it ... You think you are completely right, and you start looking for facts in favour of your thoughts, ignoring other. Unfortunatelly that's exactly how our brain works.

In my case, i was just intuitive that I might be wrong, and someday I'll understand that. I took a pause from poker (not because I realized i need it, but because of my financial status, but nvm..). Meanwhile, I was just watching streams, free lessons, improved my maths, etc. etc. And when I had money for a deposit, I was completely fresh, I forgot what a badbeat is, my mind was clear. I still get 4bet calls with 64o and guy hits his straight on the river, but it's ok for now. That's poker. I am sure that after a month or two, when my memory will fulfill with badbeats, I will start thinking wrong again, and I hope I will still have strength to take a pause again before losing my whole bankroll while tilting. We'll see.

So much bla bla bla.. The point is that I can feel all the struggle of this guy, and I know it is curable. All you need is two simple things:

1. Admitting you are completely wrong. (even if you don't understand why, just admit, time will come and you will understand)

2. Take a pause from poker.

I guarantee it will help.

Well... sounds fair enough... Then, my advice for this guy is "play poker more, and please tell us your nickname" :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin:

OFFTOP!

While typing my last comment, I felt like I need to create my own personal blog on this forum)) Feel like it adds you +EV... But my BR is only 40$ at this moment, think I'll wait for at least 200$...

Bunch of trolls!

I am the only person in the bg community to ques by reducing the initial Hero range the the exact poker hand 3 times in a row from hand history with unknown Hero cards!

Besides my blog in a BG community has the most Views! 363 378 Views!

Besides trolling like this how bad someone plays without any proof of that it is only revealing how much you have upstairs and what is your mental status in a pretty negative ways!

Don't you worry! The real life will provide you what you deserve!

Well vengeance77,
I think they are not trolling -- they are actually trying to help.

Months ago I said much the same thing as Shkureonak and NapoleonBonaparte111 and many, many others.

The main point is: Poker is more than luck!
I don't know what site you play on, or what your screen name is, but I guarantee you that the other players know you, and know how your play.

Unless you change, your results won't

For a start, I recommend "The Mental Game of Poker" by Jared Tendler

All the best,
VS

I am sorry Vorpal but this statement shows clearly he wants us dead! The reason? His wounded ego. It's hard not be harsh or too personal!

Although it may be hard not be harsh and personal, please let's keep the forums polite.

Seems like you are the only person trolling here. If you go back and see how many people have said the same thing, that poker is not just a pure luck game. You are not playing vs house and house makes same profit regardless of who wins the hand, so even if someone wanted to rig a pokersite, it wouldn't make much sense for them to do so. Also you can determine your odds when you get your money in and luck is deciding the outcome only in short term.
Also last few comments do have a point here. Explains why you only post hands where it was a suck out/bad beat. Very likely you're doing that because of your ego problems. You can't admit you have flaws in your game, therefore you are never posting a single hand where you played badly. You can't admit it to your self, so no surprise you can't admit it to others in your blog.
Also you accusing these guys of making new accounts after being banned for trolling, but Shkureonak is a pokerstrategy member since 2010. I would say know your facts, before you come after someone.
I highly advise you to re-think your poker approach, maybe even re-think if you should be playing it in the first place. If you decide to still play, maybe it's time to re-think your blogging approach as well? If you don't want to interact with other people and every advice they give is a ''troll'', perhaps just stop blogging?
I think you need to realize, these people are actually trying to help you improve, not attacking your ego. Once you'll realize you aren't prefect, you aren't playing flawlessly, which is fine, cause we are all humans and we all make mistakes, even the best players in world makes mistakes, then you will understand you need to work and improve on your game. Also keep in mind, it's okay to be wrong and it's okay to make mistakes, but you have to admit your mistakes and learn from them!
