And don´t forget to feed the troll!
As I mentioned, I also bought a huge pot for canning food. And there it is, "da Pot":

Near the place we live there´s an apple tree. And it is allowed to pick apples from it!
Homer and I were on a nice bike tour last Saturday (there was no competition in tennis) and of course I picked tons of apples. All the apples I could get. Decided to make apple sauce and can it.
And what about the green tomatoes? I cooked green tomato-apple-jam and green tomato chutney and canned that as well

Big work was going on, as I also canned ripe tomatoes and made Arrabiata

Cooking was easy, cause got a pot for that too which cooks automatically:

So, got some nice Arrabiata, jam, applesauce and chutney.
Fruit is in season in British Columbia right now peaches are the big thing, earlier it was cherries.
When Mrs Vorpal returned from her trip she brought a huge box of peaches which we ate over 3 days.
I'm peached out for the moment.
Later it will be apples, which I dislike eating by themselves, but Mrs Vorpal makes the best apple pie I've ever tasted.
Vorpal, why don´t you freeze down or can all those peaches?
By the way, should can even more good stuff...

Well that takes work
We did all that when it made economic sense, and we could get the fruit practically for nothing, and had all the time in the world -- and a friend with a pressure canner. Now the freezer has little or no room -- we don't own jars or a canner any more and have very little time.
Mrs Vorpal works, and I'm lazy![]()
All the apples were for free. The green tomatoes almost, planted the seeds which were also cheap.
I work too but I´m flexible with time and I can do the canning at the weekends or after work.
Bought this to get apples from higher branches though usually they drop to ground by just shaking the tree. Have three apple trees which grow looooot of apples every year. Recent days have been about picking sea thornbuck berries. Luckily most of nasty needles have been evaded so far.

Have you found place to play omaha cash?
Ghale, I will play on Stars and Partypoker. There´s no big choice left for German players.
I will make a comeback on Partypoker and will play a mix between PLO-Cash and PLO-MTT (when low traffic on the cash tables).
Further, I will play a little 5-card-draw on Stars and HORSE as side-games.
Ladys year!
Finally! Competition season is over in tennis and I´m happy to announce that I could win all my women´s singles!

Homer and I were not exactly that successful in mixed doubles this year, could win only one
More luck and success next year!
Our poor men were a bit frustrated this year, they got very strong opponents and couldn´t win much. This year was definitely the year of the ladies.
More luck next year, gentlemen! ![]()
So, next week, I will take it easy in tennis practice (altogether, just easy sports) and on Saturday we will go on vacation to North Germany.

Until then, we gotta use up all the perishable foods, how we do it - you can read here (just if you care, of course).
In the garden, everything is ready for fall and winter, could harvest lots of cucumbers (which still gotta be used up until Saturday), was less lucky with the tomatoes. They stayed green, but made delicious green tomatoes-apple-jam and green tomato chutney (which is canned). The chili were also pretty successful and I could can Arrabiata sauce.
Maybe there will be a little poker next week, but for grind poker will restart from October 4th. This is when the off-season will begin.
Big congratulations on DOMINATING the ladies' tennis season with a perfect record!

Now you certainly deserve some well-earned rest.
As you know, I have a couple more weeks of sports left myself, but I look forward to spending both of our off-seasons together with you next month - with plenty of time for poker too.
There will be a lot of off-season fun for sure .... ♠_biggrin:♠_cool:♠_thumbsup::banana:
HORSE salami!
Who wants some? Well ..urm... we wanted some (not really) and decided to have a little fun session on Stars. Instead of the "Troll Freeroll", Harrier and I tried out the 1.10 $ HORSE 200 $ Gtd. Didn´t go well at the beginning and Harrier stated: "If the HORSE keeps going on like this, I'll have horse salami for dinner tomorrow."
Well, I am already HORSE salami cause donked away half of my stack in Stud hi/lo ...

Needed chips! When we switched to Holdem, I was happy to pick up QQ. Unfortunately, ran into AA and that was it.
I think you did all right in the HORSE.
Nothing you could do about that exit hand...

Hurray holiday!!
After a hard and busy tennis season and busy work it´s time now to relax. Homer and I will go on vacation tomorrow to North Germany.

There will be tennis training for course, but the lessons won´t be that hard anymore. It will be mostly technique lessons. We will take it easy with sports - we have to, struggling again with achillodynia and I´m afraid, I will need physical therapy again this winter. ![]()
Let´s see how my achilles tendon will be after vacation. But first: Gonna have a good time!
Have lots of fun, Prim, and try to take it easy. ![]()
Enjoy your vacation! ♠_love::heart::f_love: Hope you have a great one.

Thank you, guys!
Yes, Homer and I always have an enjoyable time at the North Sea, Vorpal, even though it´s actually a tennis boot camp. :f_ugly::mdr: The weather is not right for lying on the beach but that´s not what we´re here for. We enjoy sporty vacations with some action and sight seeing. Sauna is not possible at the moment due to Corona restrictions but hopefully next year.
Today, the boot camp starts ♠_biggrin:♠_cool:. We´ll have a lot of tennis training but this time I guess, as competition season is (almost?) over, it will be mostly technique lessons. In fact, there are two more competitions in mixed doubles and we think about competing at least once more, all depends on my foot. As mentioned, I have achillodynia and actually should be careful. Don´t want a rupture of my achilles tendon! No way! ![]()
Will train carefully and let´s see how it goes ...
Improving my diet
Okay, I know this is not a sports- and diet blog
but we´re not in the off-season yet!
I have to admit that at the moment my diet is very bad. Even though I need lots of carbs during tennis season (suck at tennis with my usual low carb diet), I eat too little fruit. No wonder I am tired all the time. Yesterday, I decided to give myself a little treat and bought exotic fruits, what I hardly ever do because eating local and seasonal is very important to me (health and care for the environment). After eating the fruits I realized that I felt so much fitter!! Should do that a bit more often, once in a while, I guess that´s okay. I really should improve my diet! More fruit, veggies, less pasta (will happen during off-season anyway), and especially: less sweets!!! Oh boy, got such a sweet tooth! But eating less sweets definitely will help not only to improve my fitness, but also further lower my body fat content (already low, but could further improve).
Tennis training is going well and yesterday I noticed how much I improved my technique. Actually, this is also thanks to Villains during competitions who constantly bombarded my backhand (I have a better forehand than backhand) and so: It improved a lot!
Last winter, I also had intense backhand drills which of course helped a lot. Yesterday, I could really and clearly see the results! ![]()
On the other hand, Homer got confused while improving his technique!
During the first training, he f@+# ed up both, forehand and backhand, while he´s trying to improve, but that´s pretty normal when you learn something new.
First, your nervous system gets confused and then you improve! Achilles tendon is doing a bit better but not sure if I´m going to compete once more. Should still be careful...
