Imho it is not smart to move up under 30BI if you are not confident that you can beat next limit.
I move down when I am at or under 20BI for that limit. In case of NL5/NL2 it is 100$ which is 50 BI for NL2.
That gives me a lot of flexibility. I can always try and play on one table of NL5 when I feel like it and have few BI over 100$ and I can heal my frustrations at NL2 after I suck out

Just got 50$ for ranking 3rd on NL5 leaderboard yesterday!
I was leading for a while, but some asshole got lucky while I was sleeping

Also got 4$ on NL2 leaderboard.

Good results for leaderboards on "my" limits got me some courage to try higher limits, just for points. Didnt have intention to play there.

I played awfully bad at NL5, but was lucky and had really good cards yesterday, today not even close. NL5 is driving me crazy and I am thinking of saving the money for next limit and skip it

Had luck to have good cards and someone to call that, but what is actually fun is the fact that when you bet more, people call more.
When I try to play balanced with 70%-pot size bets people fold because they figure that I have better hand. When I bet big, oversized...they think that I am bluffing

Anyway, that last hand was a shock at the turn but it went well.
Finished my NL25 session after that. It was not smart decision to continue playing after everything that happened before but it went well and I am happy to break even on NL25

Anyway, new day just started and it is time to build my bankroll for NL10 finally

I think every third hand was QQ or better ♦
Suited connectors, broadways and pocket pairs are good points. Also you can follow your progress, over 6000 points you are ITM on almost every leaderboard except NL16. So if you have less than 1000 points after 50 hands or less than 3000 after 150 hands, there is not much chance to win.
Yesterday I dont know if I had 2x AA on all 5 leaderboards, but still managed to get some money

Won 165,08 $! Which makes my leaderboard cash almost 250$ total in 3 days!!!

I am thinking of buying lottery ticket

Crushing NL25, NL16 and NL2 atm and struggling at NL5 and NL10. Poker, not leaderboards

Well after that I got some air, finished today's leader board challenges with no success. Maybe I will get a dollar in the morning.
I mean all of the money I got from leader boards and shouldnt be complaining, had 100$ at the beginning of the week.
But that doesnt mean that I should just throw it away.

Read some articles, watched some videos...will play poker again.
Currently my BR is at 250$, will continue playing NL10. If I get to 320$, will play NL16 and if I fall down to 150, NL5 is all mine

I might even punish myself for stupidity and go grindin NL2 till I get to 750$

What can I say, another ordinary day at the poker tables. Will work on my volume a bit more and try to analyse stats after I reach decent number of hands.

That's some aggressive bankrollmanagement for sure! Well, as long as you can hit the breaks in time, take that breath, reset your mind and go to the lower limits grind again.

You say you can beat nl10 if you focus, and I bet that's true. But we need to see that the mental aspect is part of the game, not something outside of the game. So I mean if you play NL10 but are not on top of it enough and lose because of that, then you are not really beating NL10 yet. Maybe not because you are unable to strategy-wise, but mental-wise you lack. If you beat them strategy-wise and mental-wise stay focussed during downswing you can crush the game. But if you crush them strategy-wise you can still lose all that and more very quickly if you lack something mentally.

We really need to see this as a longer term thing. Short term results are blah and they are our enemy. And if the influence your game that's not good. But if you play the higher stakes and lose it's very very hard to not care I think. You probably still play fine if you lose a buyin or two at nl2 because you are rolled for it (I will say nothing about NL5 :f_mad:).

We can do this, but it will take some time. That's very frustating if you think you can beat higher limits already but are not rolled for it. Then it's hard to grind it out until you are. Patience my friend, patience!!

Don't really like your coldcall preflop. SB most of the time is very wide vs BU open, especially with that small size. Why don't you go for a cold 4bet here? You ahead against SBvsBU 3bet range, something like this:

What is the reason behind raising 6x multiway on wet board? If you raise that big, why do you leave 36bb in front of you instead of just shoving?
I would prefer to raise to 30bb here and fold for push. It is tough, but after BB 3bets you and UTG calls, you can be sure you are not the favorite. TBH you are lucky if you have 7 outs against a straight and not only 2 against a bigger set.

Oh I will just skip to NL2 right away for couple of days, until I find myself again.
I have to admit that I am playing on tilt since yesterday evening and just cant make right decisions at the table.
Whatever I did in game today, good or bad, ended up with me losing the pot or with split pot at best.
I think best idea is to move down the limits until this downswing passes

I usually do, have no idea why I did that. Wasn't thinking rationally.
OTF I figured he has flushdraw, but my guess were diamonds. After he kept calling, thought he has something like Ad4d and hoping for 2nd pair or a flush. They usually fold OTT after such large bet. Anyway, when I saw that there is no diamond OTR, I was happy. For about 3 seconds

They do, they raise cbet with TPTK often and go broke, but not that deep. But I usually dont do that, at that point I was already frustrated with everything that was going on and just wanted him to fold. Honestly, if that happened 3 days earlier I would go for pot control with smaller bets and fold OTT. But I remember myself at this point thinking something like "oh, fuck he got his second pair...I should fold...nevermind"

I am still on tilt and that is why I will play NL2 for a while
I mean, there is a reason for not posting any of those hands in hand discussion forum. I know that I was playing worse than any recreational player.
It is easy to find an excuse in tilt while I am actually supposed to study more about current strategies and stay away from the tables until I calm down and start thinking normaly.

Well from my experience on NL25, they are much more cautios about investing money in 3bet pot. TPTK or two pairs often win the pot, sets are jackpot. Also bluffs and semibluffs can keep you in the game. I mean that is my observation after maybe 3k hands, of course that there are all sorts of players as everywhere.

For BB I was positive about him having QQ+, he would be OOP OTF and considering that we are unknown I dont expect him to 3bet light there.
Same goes for UTG, dont expect him to RFI with one gapper and call 3bet (J9 is flopped straight) so I put him on strong pair or strong suited connectors as AK,KQ or something around that range.
I eliminated each of them having J9 which leaves only one combo better than me - TT and I considererd that very unlikely. I think that the odds of set being beaten by stronger set are something like 1:200.
It was pot size raise I think, clicked wrong button. Even though sometimes I do that on purpose to make them shove, looks as I have no clue what I am doing, goes well with the 22 badge that I carry
My plan was to shove OTF and cash out if they have any combo that I dont like.
Unfortunately, he had TT and rest is history

As you can see, I take NL25 much more serious than NL10 and lower limits and if my approach to NL10 would be same as to NL25, results would be way better. I play NL10 as NL2 instead and that is why I am where I am at the moment.

I was reading your blog earlier today, bookmarked the link for the no limit course by confidant91, will go through it during next period.

I know that my knowledge is rusted and good results on almost all limits made me relaxed completely and that is not the way to play on Pokerstars. Competition is hard and they will punish every mistake. But that is how we win in poker - by exploiting our opponent's mistakes, right?

Just come play nl2 until your mind is right. Well not if you are going to steam of course. But if you feel like you want to play but are afraid to, just do it it'll be allright. Well, you can lose $2 or a few times $2 at most. Otherwise I will take all their monies and when you come there will be only empty tables!

We all need to change some things about our game, especially us playing at the ini-mini-limits probably. Seeing what you need to change is the first step I guess. How to stay in your A or B -game ... well if you are not playing well anymore, just take a break immediately. However short. With zoom you can play very short sessions. I often do that. Play some, sit out, browse the internet or get some coffee or whatever, resume play.

I cracked completely at Saturday, ran into better full house
Made few rage all-ins after that

Dont get me wrong, I do understand that poker is not only winning and there will be plenty of ups and downs in the future.
And I am not going to quit. And I stand behind my words, when I am at 100% I can beat micros. Even with my limited knowledge.
What happened this weekend was 90% my fault, playing while I am at 50% and less. Being tired, tilted and not focused on game cost me a lot of money. Or nothing, depends how you look at it. Because all I lost was bonus money from leader boards. But I gained a lot of experience during past few days and it will be useful in the future.
I am slowly building up my BR and reading strategy articles, have few interesting hands to post in forum for evaluation...
During these 7 days I played 5k hands per day on average. From NL2 to NL25. And I found some leaks in my game, as not defending the blinds enough and folding to turn and river bets a lot. Will have to fix those. Atm I am focused on my preflop game.

But today is a new day.
