No specific reads but Yolo73 seemed like reggy from small sample.

So flop is not great for my range but I decided to raise versus donk and call as I had nut gs, nut fd, nut bfd and AA. Plus straight blocker. If raising turn then even versus two I like potting turn. There is some danger of SB slowplaying some straights but would have to crying call turn if he raises.

Interesting question on river if I should go for value shove? Obviously I rep straight and its unlikely to get called but villain doesnt have 86 either ever after turn call I would imagine. Issue is that there are also two lower straights and even if they are very unlikely imo it probably make value shove too thin? Basically would aim to get villain to hero call hand like 8877 etc. River we have 27€ behind so bit below SPR 0.5.

tricky, i would assume he had something like straightflush gut shot + set ? like 6h7h7xXx so i'd like to think you have value here. ofc slowplayed 86 also possible, but unless you have a read he likes to slowplay and be tricky should be easy value ? On the other hand you are so agressive, its tempting on the river to check again with 86xx. on flop if he has naked 86xx there is many turns that suck so a bet / call seems reasonable and since turn is a blank why not see if you keep fireing... soo yeah i really don't know
bottomline based on opponent i feel check behind or sending it are both valid with a tendency to sending it.
as you know, my knowledge for this game is rather low but hope its still interesting what my donk brain produces as response to this

*edit - this is breaking my brain and the more i think about it, i start to like check behind a bit more just because the hands you have beat and still call are kinda rare... it already is nice pot to bring home without risking additional $. a weak train of thought but without additional reads feels like the "safer" play (can't really put him on 23xx, 36xx is a hand you may get to fold but will also call here maybe a notch to often (fds missed, not paired))

Interesting hand. He can definitely have some 68 on the turn with a plan to check-raise all in. As he only calls, I don't think he has it. It's hard to imagine any other straights there as well especially from a reggy player on SB. It makes a big difference compared to him being on the BB and the other caller being on SB instead.

As you said, you are repping straight but there should be also plenty of busted draws with nutblockers you could play the same, because none of them hit. A88s, AT8s, T897 etc. From villain's perspective, he should call the river with a set+some blockers, ideally not blocking any hearths, because the 1/4 he get's for a call is too good. If river would have completely missed, I wouldn't bluff it for the exact same reason. Then obviously he would have a weak 2 pairs and a K high flushdraw :f_biggrin:

Yeah I think I did miss value bet on river in this one as those straights should indeed be very unlikely for SB range. Anyway correction for open post as my gs is not to nuts though having the straight blocker does also work for my favor. Villain had

I think its also spot where villain could think of x-r turn? Because with SPR being just half I suppose he would donk bet pairing river but how about flush completing river? Point being its really tough to get value imo if he improves. Wonder if he was planning to call blank river which A more or less was. Well no way to know :)

X-r on turn is good against some of the most aggressive players at least. As played I don't think there's any good options for villain to play the river when the flush completes. Normally when spr is that low he should donk bet most of the flushes because there's no point check-folding them and it's unlikely hero would bluff enough. But now the flush is just too weak for hero to have any worse flushes that could potentially call. I would still go with the donk I guess :f_rolleyes:

Yeah, on blank rivers that was probably the plan (if he had any).

like to see that my initial intuition wasn't too far off. afterall i guess most of the time it is what it looks like and you indeed may have missed a few $ here
I am curious, both of you are reasonbaly sure he would't check call but x-r turn with 86xx - with our hand would you find a fold against check raise or still call? the odds are quite decent with sets and fds or some kind of mix to still call, so we are not exactly printing by check raising if people still call because spr is so good and hands as played often still have their 25-30% against the straight. with heartblockers and/or boat blockers check raise should sure be a profitable move as callinghands likely go down to ~20% ev, otherwise playing around with equilab for the first time i am not so sure. Or is it more about protecting our hand, getting the money in and maybe simplyfication to avoid a river decision, why check raise is the way to go?

If villain shove turn it would often be fairly dry sort of straight as straight with strong back up would often just 3bet flop. So assuming let's say 11 outs it would be roughly breakeven with quick head calculation. My plan was to bet-call anyway.

Mainly I was thinking of villain turn x-r because of how small SPR is on river and difficulty of getting implied odds. Like if board pair and he donks even with straight I have very hard time to call because he will have boat so often. One potential hand to beat could be like 89TJ+fd which could perhaps then donk shove pairing river as bluff but then again how many would go for it. Well of course occasionally I will also have like T998, A99+fd for boat on river.

So above plus chance that his set is good on turn. Maybe his plan was to call blank river but issue is still that 8, T or J also bring some stronger straights in which will be covered by some of rundowns in my range. It is also hand that can call as direct pot odds decent amount of time so I think call with plan to fold unimproved is not bad in itself. Readless in villain shoes I would give lot of credit for heroes line here being deep stacked and 3way.

I would have probably ended bluffing river if it was necessary but might be questionable.

thanks, from your perspektive what do you think about 3/4 pot size instead of pot on turn ?
Assuming we are doing the same with the made straight it should be balanced and not really exploitable, sure with our hand we wouldn't be to happy in a x-r scenario, but in the cases where we are holding the straight / strong top sets etc) it gives our opponents more room trying to bluff/semibluff us and may create more ev in the end?
As long pop would rarely x-r turn here unless they have the made straight it would also be possible to still find a laydown?
From opponents perspektive for sure agreed as you and colorflusher mentioned, he should've gone x-r against agressive players on turn or probably fold (in his shoes i would've been even more agressive on the flop and raise there again tbh - haven't given it too much thought, but the mainhand he needs to be really afraid off is 99xx or the madestraight with higher fds, so combos where he is far behind are quite rare (worst case should be JhTh9d9s - to AhTh99 where he is crushed, which is like 8-10 combos?) .
vs lets say your hand or even a quite naked made straight (8s6sTc8c for example) he has like 60% on flop and even against a rather naked 99 (JdTd9s9c for example) he has almost 50%
Hope i am not escalating this too much, just got hooked on this game and we don't have too many discussions going on otherwise for plo
Also the spot overall is very interesting
