Omaha clicking, Project 2026

Few hands once again from todays sessions. This was biggest pot. Clear squeeze pre and flop went for half pot cbet. I suppose this could be also fine to just pot as Kxxx is blocked by my hand so heavily. Turn SB reps straight but this guy is also one of most bluff happy guys I have seen. Anyway I basically cant fold turn anyway getting almost direct pot odds to improve. Not sure about river as I dont block straights at all but price is great (need to be good bit over 20% of time) and as said villain is aggro. So I pretty much called turn with plan to call most non heart rivers.

Second biggest pot was versus same guy just few seconds later. Pre and flop again very standard. I think turn I just have to pot with SPR 1.5.

This one might have been bit of screwed up hand. Just checked flop as we are not super happy to get raised but then again it should be pretty rare to happen. Not sure probably fine either way. Turn complete straight which I block. BU pots turn and bank river and decided to hero having top two and straight blocker.

This was bit annoying. Villain basically misplayed every street.

Then this one where opponents calls flop and turn with dry QQ... Optimistic fellow.

That straight flush hand I posted bit earlier is kind of interesting also from view of nuts, 2nd nuts, 3rd nuts thinking. Like if there was no straight flush possible then pot-3betting K high flush would be totally crazy even though its 2nd nuts. Often folding it to x-r would be best. My hand was actually only 3rd nuts and villain nut flush 4th nuts if we think spot without certain hand blocking other one. In practice my hand is 2nd nuts but villain should be afraid of three different straight flush combination. Yet I went for 3bet expecting to get called by nut flush often enough.

Of course one difference is that straight flushes always require two exact card so from combination view its less likely. Now if villain did shove on river I should have easy fold but not sure if I would have done it. Might have been thinking "but I have straight flush!" and for that same reason I think 3betting in my shoes at least versus recreational has value. They will more easily think "I only lose to straight flush and if villain has it then so be it!".

For some reason I had to prolong my session today. This hand might give indication for reason.

Also I had this versus reggy player I had played with for around two hours in 4 different tables. Kyyberi often mention these weird 3bets from reggy players and was pretty surprised as I had not seen anything clearly bad from this player. So it kind of leave few possibilities. Villain might have tilted or got his ego in play as I had been raising obviously lot of buttons and had won some pots from him in other tables. Other option is that he overvalues these type of hands very much but his 3bet frequency didnt really look like that. Just weird hand.

Ok so got data from this challenge now. Target was to get from 2k€ to 10k€. Final result is now 10571€ as I had today hands as well in data I got. Data for PLO25 and PLO50 below. I did play maybe 1k hands in PLO10 and couple hands in PLO200 (shortstacked when I needed some rake to get bonus open) but didnt include those. Rakeback comes mainly from different playthrough bonuses and maybe few hundred from husng/spin tickets I bought with bonus shop points.

Kind of funny thing is that first and last month on this project did make majority of profits from actual games. I think around 5k€ in total. So few months after first one was quite a struggle indeed. Out of curiosity checked prerb results per month from data:

So yeah second and third month was quite a bit down even with rakeback included. There was definitely some plain bad play as I really struggled with some of those aggro tables. But yeah I think my base strategy has improved huge amount from start which was one of main goals in this challenge. Aim is continue that path and see where it leads

Last dog I have had was one of these though dont have any pictures. Loved winter as colder the better. If I remember right we took him inside for night if it was below -30c. Summer though shadows was loved as well.

hello there, i think that againgst a very agg player i am going to 4bet and call the 5bet allin,
it depends on the range you put him. if i think he have AAxx or KKxx with a 3bet stat lest than 5 so im just calling to see the flop and get staked with 2pairs or better including that monster draw hand imho

yes is a standar hand and on flop the equity i think is very near to 50 50

well its also somethng for others to fever along (challange) ^^ MTTs are really great, just an awesome pokerformat imo, only problem(at least for me) is the time invest required to actually play them.
and man that dog looks fluffy Lily from the first pic hates the cold and even rain, like a real diva. she will literally turn around and wants to go back inside when cold wind or rain hits her.
This guy(Fritz) is a diffrent story, any weather goes, but for such big numbers below 0°C he isn't equipped either

These are kind of common hands versus player pool. Way too optimistic cold calling versus 3bets. CO is reggy player.

Dont be this guy (unless I am opponent). Villain should just x-f flop imo. He has A♥: and bottom pair but thats not really enough on such dynamic flop.

Luckily villain didnt bet river. I really hate these spots if he does as straight is unlikely but they just very often has it if betting river from my experience. It make sense though as its tough spot to bluff.

Here went for thin river value as there are decent amount of busted draws I could have for villain to find hero call.

Not winning all pots. There few lost big pots happened in very small time frame. Btw not sure how common this rake system is on different sites but in Unibet if you are two or three handed rake is halved. Or at least rake cap is.

Here went for flop x-r as this flop rarely hit strong for my range.

I think this was fine to just pot as SPR is less than 2. EP is sort of reggy player but MP had seemed high vpip fellow. Maybe bit questionable squeeze with upper gap pre?

Was bit nasty to lose those last three hands inside 10 mins in same table but day still up almost 200€

Remember that not all opponents understand that you need two of a suit in hand to make a flush. Every now and then someone draws a flush with single Ace.

Weird sessions today. Or not so weird but frustrating. Whole first session and most of second I had nice tables with good customers but issue was... Cold deck as I probably had like vpip 10 and when I did get decent hands they completely missed flops. Then some not so happy endings in some 3bet pots. Did manage to steal some small to medium pots with bluffs as that really felt only way to win pots...

Was down like 300€ after 2/3 of last session and I thought to give up. But then it was like someone switched the doom switch and boom! AAxx holding in 3way pre allin versus once again way overplayed stuff like QJT8sss etc. Raise-calling A543ds and x-r on 238r with bdfd and boom 4 on river to win versus AA3x.

I literally selected sit out next BB on all tables and then won like 3 or 4 big pots during last 15 hands or so. Then checked my cashier and noticed to be up little bit.

Did cross my mind If it was bad time to end session but had already played two decently long sessions and started to felt sleepy. But yeah one can get bit superstitious on variance when these happens

Last two day pretty much breakeven prerb. Lot of interesting hands though. Few nasty ones like this:

Called CO open pre, x-c flop, x-r turn and shove river SPR 0.2. Might actually be better to x-c.

Light 4bet versus reg not going my way. Had been pretty aggro preflop play and this guy has been able to fold some stuff to 4bet so decided to go for it. Might be better to just call which I would usually do.

Here called CO (good customer) open in BU and SB squueze. 3way to flop where SB overplay his dry AAxx by potting SPR 1.8 or so. Had 64% on flop.

Bggest pot of the day. Open MP and both blinds called. SB only had like 40bb. Cbet flop, SB x-r shoved, BB call and I called getting 13€ for pot of 57 pot odds. Nuts on turn where BB shove and we hold.

Played short session today. Pretty lucky turn in this "daily quads" hand as Vorpal likes to say.

BU open raise and I just called from SB. Should likely be 3bet but I just dont love these triple suit hands that much and fe in SB vs BU 3bet tend to be non existent. BB goes for squeeze, BU call and I call. Flop I x-c versus BU half pot and x-c turn. Well I did still have 20% equity on flop.

So I have recently thought about river x-r possibility in omaha. When does it make sense? What are good reasons or hand components for it? Here is hand from yesterday which imo make a decent spot:

So I open SB and BB defend. Cbet half pot on dry flop with some potential but too weak hand to x-c. BB call and he can have lot of stuff like Qxxx, KKxx, 4xxx+straight draw, etc. Turn give me another gs and nfd so huge amount of equity and I decided to pot. My draw is also good enough to call if villain happen to pot which is pretty vital thing for potting as I have no pair blocker at all. Which mean its very easy for villain to have hand like KQ or potentially also slowplayed set or KK. If my draw was bit weaker I would tend to go for x-c.

Anyway BB call again and at this point his range should be quite bit more defined. E.g. plain oesd with only one pair should pretty much fold. So mainly I would assume villain to have some two pairs, some combo draws and maybe like KJTx without fd type hand as sort of bottom of range. River bring bd fd in and if we think of my range its not going to love this river that much. We will have plenty of sets and KQ without flush cursing bad river. So those low to mid flushes are mainly looking to x-c to bluff catch and pot control. If we have like A♥: with little to no showdown value it works nice as triple barrel.

But what if we have e.g. A♥:K♠:Q♠:8♦:? We block nuts but also have hand that mainly beat non flush hands. No point to turn into bluff by triple barreling so hand like that work better as check. Issue though comes if BB bets. He then says he has flush for value. We could perhaps bluff catch but having nut blocker we can also think of x-r bluffing. To have option to do that play in balanced fashion we then need to have some nut flushes in river check range also.

Also noteworthy in this spot for check is that river changes the nuts so if villain has like J or T high flush lot of players will go for value bet versus check. Also very important thing here is to not block those other big flushes as that would increase chance of villain checking and those big flushes are main candidates to actually call versus x-r.

Now in this hand villain bet-folded river bit over half pot size. This is one issue in x-r in general. No way to know what villain had. It might be bluff with busted wrap or might be 2nd nuts bet-folding. Thing is though that often when BB bets he wont go for pot size and if he folds to raise... We probably lost value versus his flush as he would likely call pot size river barrel. Then again if villain does bet-fold 2nd nuts times we bluff print ton of profit. Of course this way of thinking is not really sensible as we always play versus range. Sometimes villain bluffs with hand that would fold to any river bet. Sometimes he checks back flush that might have hero called river barrel. Sometimes he bet-calls flush and we get max value.

Lets think about another scenario. We open SB with A♠:8♠:7♥:6♦:, BB call. Flop comes J♠:9♠:3♠:, we bet half pot, turn 2♥:, we pot, river 4♥:. We still have nuts on river would it make sense to look for x-r here? It might work as we dont block big flushes. Problem though is that board didnt change from flop and by half potting flop and potting turn we are already telling story of big flush so our range is heavily polarized into pretty much at least Q high flush or bluff. Which means that even if villain has K high flush it could be very sensible to check behind. Even if villain bets its likely for smallish size and its likely very hard to get hero called versus raise. If we did for alternative line and trapped. Lets say we cbet flop, check turn which goes checked then we would have more sensible spot to look for river x-r. Reason being our range is wider and less polarized so villain value betting mediocre flush and not believing versus raise is much more likely.

So mostly I want to play straightforward with nuts as that just tend to be best way to get value in long run. But occasionally tricky x-r when board changes can be very effective. Of course better if villain is capable of bluffing and not being too scared to value bet. Sometimes I have tried to x-r nut flush on river and villain snap checks 2nd nuts behind. That is quite soul crushing experience in a way

Tough first session for the day. Almost 300€ down. Was it ne of those sessions where hitting one pair was challenge in 3bet pots.

Then had 4bet pot where MP reg 3bets J875ds versus my EP open and calls 4bet. Flops trips on JJ4r. Pretty horrible 3bet with 3 gapper imo. That hand should be snap fold to my open.

Then one other guy 3bet-5bet QJT9ds COvsEP and another of my AAxx get screwed. Was nasty one as board was 543QT so with sensible play to call my 4bet I would have got fold on flop. 5bet has no merit in that spot imo as my 4bet range EPvsCO will be basically only AAxx as default. But worked this time for him.

Time to believe this is not my day. Bit over 400€ down.

One of likely bit questionable decisions in this one. Open CO, BB reg 3bets and went for 4bet-call. Versus AAxx I have 32% and would need bit more like 35-36% considering rake as well. This guy was doing some optimistic 3bets with ds hands which I mentioned in previous post but not sure if that happens from BB. So I think just calling would have been more solid play.
