I'm gone — I went after a guy showing a K, not letting go, and even pairing up.

Almost a year now I've been playing only the daily freebie on GGPoker.
I can't even remember what it was that pi$$ed me off about them, but I suspect it had something to do with a bad beat and tilt.

The y-axis scale is in $ below maximum, and the x-axis is in days.
Flat chunks of the graph are where I either didn't play at all, or won nothing.

Does a straight at least beat trips under Pokerstars rules for 6+ Hold'em?

Not sure which is more common, but I distinctly remember iPoker having rules for 6+ Hold'em in which trips beat a straight, at least in the past.

A straight beats 3 of a kind on PokerStars and on GGPoker

Six Plus Hold’em

Six Plus Hold’em is a variant of Texas Hold‘em that uses a reduced deck. Instead of the standard 52 card deck, all cards with the values of 2,3,4 and 5 are removed, resulting in a 36 card deck, where the lowest card is 6 and the highest Ace (A).

Six Plus Hold’em follows the same game logic and betting structure as the classic Texas Hold’em. The only exception comes in the hand strength hierarchy which is as follows:

- Royal Flush
- Straight Flush
- Four of a kind
- Flush
- Full house
- Three of a kind
- Straight
- Two pair
- One pair
- High card

The hand A6789 is the weakest straight, AKQJT is the strongest straight, Three of a kind beats a straight, and Flush beats a Full house.

Still a bit tight pre-flop, and perhaps a lot tighter post flop.

Seems to be working...

#35 on the leaderboard as well, which should hold for $2.00 (150 paid places 21 to 100 get $2)

if im not wrong trips is less probable than straight which made it stronger in the earlier variants.
However the rules were changed to make straights stronger than trips, because straight draws would be worthless on paired boards which made the game nittier I think? Hitting sets were also a lot more common now with pocket pairs, and sets already have 50% equity against made straights

Thanks for dropping in...

I've been meaning to calculate the odds of various hands for short-deck, but haven't got to it yet.
One thing I have noticed though — quads are far more frequent. Or maybe I was in the luckbox today.

I know I don't need to calculate the odds — they're all over the place — but doing so helps me cement the knowledge

bust out of every tournament, dropped a couple of 6+ hold'em buy-ins

The difference is like 0.1% but gameplay wise it's better that straight beats trips.

I frequently grab a bounty or two, and several times make an FT but this is the first bink in a while — and biggest cash since they went to the 30-player format

Well, it's better than what I'm doing, which is to cram poker into weeks where I can hardly focus on it and keep losing.

And I hope that "flooing" was a typo for "flooring", not "flooding".
