Funny week, I think I have developed hayfever for the first time in 42 years. Last week when I would go outside with the dog I started having sneezing fits, as well as being lethargic and scratchy throat. I tested for COVID obviously and it wasn't that, so I started taking antihistamines and a nasal spray which has certainly helped. I'm still a bit rough but way better, apparently they take a while to work properly.

Anyone here got hayfever and any advice on how to make it bearable?

Very infrequently — usually when mowing the lawn (I think I'm allergic to work actually)

I found that nasal sprays worked while they worked but the condition seemed worse when the drug wore off.

So the 'good news' is that it was COVID after all - I'm fine, very minor symptoms, I am actually pleased it isn't hayfever as I would have to deal with that every year

I have had sniffles etc once or twice in the past two year, but I was never tested.
I will likely never know if I had COVID — If it was, I'm fine, if it wasn't it wasn't.

No big update I am afraid been really busy with the new pup so not much poker. He is great and the old pooch is doing fine.

Was a losing week but last night had a nice €600 boost, mostly by a second place in the €25 Deep Impact on Unibet. That is the regular nightly MTT I have ran worse in than any other, so it was nice to get a result.

New GTO book is moving along......slowly.....mostly because of my struggles to understand the more complex application of blockers and unblockers. With every book I have done with Dara there has been a section I struggled to understand and once I got over that hurdle the rest of the book just poured out. I hope that is the case with this.

The mutts have been great. Oldie is doing well despite his health issues, youngie is becoming a little bit better behaved every day

Actually thought I had a terrible week because I at one point got my BR over €4,100, so I am pleasantly surprised that I actually had a small profit, I assumed it a losing week.

Im suffering quite badly during the spring and summer from time to time. Go to the pharmacist you trust and try to get Cetirizin ( that is the active substance ) pills. One in the evening and you are doing fine next day.

It may be also called ceterizine — thanks for that Hausierer, I've never tried that one.
My wife finds loratadine effective. I don't know what brand names would correspond to those, since we only buy generic products.

Sad news everyone, we had to put our beloved mutt Charlie to sleep

He was 13 and a half, we had him from 8 weeks. He was the best dog I've ever known, really gentle and really funny. Sadly he had a long series of health problems over the last two years. None of them made him suffer which is why we carried on with him for so long, but the last few weeks he went completely blind, his legs got worse and he was unable to do anything he liked. He was getting really stressed out and confused all the time.

The house feels really empty without him, but thank god we have Arthur and no doubt one day another dog to join him.
