My plan was to shove turn but I feel stupid if he snaps it off with AK/AQ so I changed my mind.

You have showdown value, but how do you see a showdown?
Options:
:diamond:  check/call
:diamond:  bet/call <<<problem is that you really don't want to see a shove and sizing the bet becomes problematic. To small and you induce the shove. Better won't fold, and not much worse will call.

I'm voting check/call, but as a registered nit, I'm folding to any very large bets.

I'd check flop. Great board, our hand isn't vulnerable. Easy check.
As played i feel this is a X/f. Opponent will check back Q's J's. Ace is a bad card, if he ships air here after we double check then whatever. Just don't think alot of villians are strong enough to do that.

Legit tough spot!

I would go ahead and bet flop too - i think "checking flop" is resultsorientated. If it wasnt for the worst card in the deck on the turn, im not sure any1 would go about the "check the flop" argument.

I dont like bet/folding river.

While i do not like leaving the initiative to my oponent, this is (in my humble opinion) one of those spots where u're never getting called by worse otr - JJ/QQ/random stuff might just bluff the river when checked to twice.

WP if you check/called river

We check the flop because we have a non vulnerable holding that protects our checking range. Has nothing to do with the turn or being results orientated.

For me is check river. I would expect from him call 3B hand like AQ, ATs, and some pairs 99, TT, JJ

seems like sound advice and reasoning.
