In the past twelve hours, the jackpot only increased by 633.13
Assumptions: <<<well, guesses actually
players are playing 7 coins per game
a coin is worth $0.01
only 6 cents per play get added to the jackpot
This implies that only 10,552 players played in that 12 hours
If more people are playing 70 cents per game, then far fewer are playing.
So much reduced chance of someone hitting the jackpot, but much larger payout w̶h̶e̶n̶ if someone does win
That's to bad. That's the problem with all those restrictions of different countries.

at 17:26 UTC it is showing as a jackpot of 25,311, and at recent rates that would mean about 6 hours ago — however I did not receive any money.

It would have been far lower if more people had been playing.
Estimated JP at time of win? 150,500 based on average 12-hour increase prorated
Half of that is 75,250, so only about 4000 people playing
Was so happy it popped this morning because I am going abroad on work and will not be able to keep the 12 hour interval rule so made it just in time with the best payout and ROI ever
Not that i wouldn't begrudge you guys that nice payout, but letting us german players pay in the jackpot and excluding us without any compensation is kinda annoying. But maybe they gave me my compensation in terms of running hot this month

I hope so, but if I understand things correctly, it was German law that caused PokerStars to end this promo for German players.
I doubt we'll ever truly know the real reason
Sure it is German law. They want to make sure the valuable coins end in the Slots and not in the very harmful addicting "The Deal".

Yeah, it is very weird.
Most governments make a big deal about "responsible gaming" or some such, yet they permit promos that actively encourage excessive play.
"The Deal" does no such thing, yet it's banned
When it comes to gambling governments first make sure how they can fill their pockets the most effective way. I'm quite sure the reasons they tell us why they do certain things like gambling addictions, player protection etc they absolutely don't give a shit about it

Agreed — the real reason governments do things is that a bunch of people who know next to nothing about the situation agree that the action will look good in the press.
If I look how it's going in the Netherlands. There is now more gambling promotion on the television since I can't play on PokerStars. That's a bad side effect of the regularlation.

didn't know there were changes in the Netherlands. Although i actually don't remember if i've ever seen any netherland players on pokerstars...:f_confused: Only Belgium.

Poker is legal in NL, however existing poker rooms must apply for a license to operate in that market

If PokerStars has applied for a license, I can't find any record of it online.
I can't play on PokerStars anymore since 1 oktober, but maybe it will change soon.

At the end of March, six months had passed since the ban, which is ample time for PokerStars to get the application in.
Hopefully soon...
I just did a quick search, and could find nothing that would indicate that PokerStars is moving toward a valid NL license
Me ether, but patience will be key for me. It's to bad I lost all my star coins and I can even get some tickets for the SCOOP that I can't use.
