However, my brother lives 100km away, so we're off to spend Sunday afternoon with him.

I managed to mow the lawn today before the rain came
I usually rains on Wednesday, because that is garbage collection day, and thus when it rains, we end up having to bring wet recycle bins back into the house.

I hate that.

I also had to hurry to get the lawns mowed, because I want to catch a couple of tournaments while trying for the 888 Hand-of-the-Day reward.
Didn't quite make either goal.

So it goes...

Oh well, at least you got a nicely mowed lawn now.

Yeah, like that will last.
At this time of year, the grass needs mowing twice weekly if I use the mulching attachment, but I can get away with once weekly if I bag it.
Mulching is better for the lawn I think.

They refer to it as $0.25A

I noticed that players were playing "wrong" — ie min-raising when they should limp pre-flop, and giving superb odds for calls post-flop, so I decided to test the waters.

I give all that back when I flopped a straight vs bottom set, and the board paired.
I would have cashed out OTF if I had been on the up-side, but surprisingly, I was behind...

That sounds nice... and if I remember correctly, an Australia trip is something that you had in mind for a long time already, is that right?

Or do you maybe escape from the season of summer, which I believe is known as "road construction" in Canada? (or "poor tobogganing" in certain regions)
The other season, of course, is called winter and lasts for the rest of the year.

IMO the fact that we (regs) understand the blind and ante structures better, and able to play according is one of our biggest advantage against recreational players, so playing these kind of games can be a huge +EV.

If we go, we would leave on September 20th, on a 29-day cruise.
Then, 10 days in Australia, then fly home.
Not written in stone yet though.

Well, assuming we go, I will have wi-fi, and I just signed up for KKPoker, so that will be an option.
Also, if it is anything the last cruise, there will be live poker available, and I will play at least some of the time.

First though, we actually need to figure out the entire itinerary.

There is a Netflix series called "Umbrella Academy" that is based on a comic book series
I never saw the comic, and I usually avoid series or movies based on comics. The primary reason for that is that to enjoy fantasy fiction, one needs to practice "the willing suspension of disbelief". For the first few seasons it was easy. This third season makes me less and less willing.

At one time fiction involved personal conflict.
Then there was fiction based on conflict between nations.
The the space operas and planet vs planet.

In this third season of Umbrella Academy, we have to believe that somehow they can stop the extinction of the universe.

I'll probably still watch the remaining 4 episodes, but that is 3 hours I'll never get back

Best to ditch Netflix altogether, honestly. They don't have much to offer that can't be found elsewhere. Or rather, the exclusive stuff that they do offer tends to be not very good at all.

I have very little use for it — however I'm not the only one in the household.
This particular one is a favourite of Mrs Vorpal, so we watch it together.

I have a couple of others I watch occasionally, but even though I'm retired, I just don't have time for binge watching. At best I can do a couple of hours of screen entertainment a day — usually less.

We cut back our cable subscription to the very basic package that includes high-bandwidth internet. In truth I don't even need that any longer, but I will again when I return to Twitch in the fall.
