Last 5 days were completely hell. I felt like I was king of the pool until I went down 22 BI.

As they say "never waste a good crisis" I took a better look at my game and myself. Hence the post about the accountability (and responsibility).

A few tings came up about my game:

 Not being aggressive enough (in the right spots)
 Not bluffing enough with good blockers (even necessary on NL5)

A few tings came up about me:

:diamond: Not studying enough (compared to the time playing)
:diamond: Not focused when playing or not tinking enough while playing. Basicly autopiloting and waiting for nut like hands
.
A year ago I wa sprobably taking shots now o 25NL or 50NL till the roll was gone :f_cry:
Hopefully we are now on our way back up.

This year NL5

Session I will be reviewing tomorrow:

Hand 1

PokerStars, 6+ Hold'em No Limit - Button Blind $0.05 ($0.05 ante) - 6 players
Replay this hand on Pokeit

UTG: $4.90 (98 bb)
UTG+1: $4.98 (100 bb)
MP: $5.08 (102 bb)
MP+1: $5.34 (107 bb)
CO (Hero): $14.37 (287 bb)
BU: $7.99 (160 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.35) Hero is CO with A♦ 6♦
UTG raises to $0.15, UTG+1 calls $0.15, MP calls $0.15, MP+1 calls $0.15, Hero calls $0.15, BTN calls $0.10

Flop: ($1.20) 7♣ 8♦ T♦ (6 players)
UTG bets $0.58, UTG+1 raises to $4.78 (all-in), 2 players fold, Hero raises to $14.17 (all-in), BU folds, UTG calls $4.12 (all-in)

There was an aggressive vibe on the table and UTG1 was shoving more frequently than used to also on the other table so he was a bit on tilt I suppose.
UTG is gamble happy and I was 'sure' he was going to call.

Turn: ($15.46) 7♠ (3 players, 3 all-in)

River: ($15.46) 6♥ (3 players, 3 all-in)

Total pot: $15.46 (Rake: $4.14)

Showdown:
CO (Hero) shows A♦ 6♦ (two pair, Sevens and Sixes)
UTG+1 shows T♠ 9♠ (a straight, Six to Ten (pot not awarded as player cashed out))
UTG shows 9♦ Q♦ (a straight, Six to Ten)
UTG+1 wins $3.98
UTG wins $7.34

Conclusion
With the reads I have I think a call is fine but BE at best. But because I only invested 4a in this pot and my read on UTG could be off it's probably better to just let this one go.

Hand 2

PokerStars, 6+ Hold'em No Limit - Button Blind $0.05 ($0.05 ante) - 6 players
Replay this hand on Pokeit

Table is raising happy (but mostly not potsize) and not folding a lot PF. Also UTG has a 3-4b of 8.5 and has been shoving a couple of times. So I call w QQ in BTN planning to call when UTG shoves and planning to fold if it goes MW.

UTG: $5.11 (102 bb)
UTG+1: $5.33 (107 bb)
MP: $4.65 (93 bb)
MP+1: $11.01 (220 bb)
CO: $3.80 (76 bb)
BU (Hero): $18.84 (377 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.35) Hero is BTN with Q♠ Q♥
UTG calls $0.05, UTG+1 raises to $0.15, MP calls $0.15, 1 fold, CO calls $0.15, Hero calls $0.10, UTG calls $0.10

Flop: ($1.05) Q♣ 9♥ A♦ (5 players)
UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, MP checks, CO checks, Hero bets $0.55, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $0.55, MP calls $0.55, CO folds

Turn: ($2.70) 8♦ (3 players)
UTG+1 checks, MP checks, Hero checks

Here my plan is to check behind or call a bet (up to pot size) and GII when the board paires.

River: ($2.70) 7♣ (3 players)
UTG+1 checks, MP checks, Hero checks

Here I was doubting about a 1/3p vbet but didn't do it because any 6 has me. In hindsight a 6 shouldn't be in their range but on NL5 with villain stats are 64/30 and 70/6 it's also not that unlikely?

Total pot: $2.70 (Rake: $0.11)

Showdown:
BU (Hero) shows Q♠ Q♥
UTG+1 shows J♣ K♦ (high card Ace)
MP shows A♣ T♠ (a pair of Aces)
BU (Hero) wins $2.59

Conclusion
I think ott I need to bet it around 2/3p and fold to a raise.
As played I need to vbet R around 1/3 or 1/2p and fold to a raise/shove

A saturdaynight rollercoaster

A bluff gone wrong:

In game it seemed to make sence because villain was reg and capable of folding a full house. Also I had the As but did'nt repped it like a flush.

PokerStars, 6+ Hold'em No Limit - Button Blind $0.05 ($0.05 ante) - 6 players
Replay this hand on Pokeit

UTG: $5.66 (113 bb)
UTG+1: $46.50 (930 bb)
MP: $2.78 (56 bb)
MP+1: $8.52 (170 bb)
CO: $9.17 (183 bb)
BU (Hero): $10.25 (205 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.35) Hero is BTN with T♦ A♠
UTG calls $0.05, UTG+1 calls $0.05, 1 fold, MP+1 calls $0.05, CO calls $0.05, Hero checks

Flop: ($0.55) K♠ Q♠ Q♦ (5 players)
UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, MP+1 checks, CO bets $0.21, Hero calls $0.21, UTG calls $0.21, 2 players fold

Turn: ($1.18) 9♦ (3 players)
UTG checks, CO checks, Hero bets $0.84, UTG folds, CO calls $0.84

River: ($2.86) 6♠ (2 players)
CO bets $1.53, Hero raises to $9.10 (all-in), CO calls $6.49 (all-in)

Total pot: $18.90 (Rake: $0.78)

Showdown:
BU (Hero) shows T♦ A♠
CO shows 8♠ T♠ (a flush, King high)
CO wins $18.12

Conclusion
Take more time to think it over when making these bluffs

Lost flip nr.1

PokerStars, 6+ Hold'em No Limit - Button Blind $0.05 ($0.05 ante) - 5 players
Replay this hand on Pokeit

UTG (Hero): $6.63 (133 bb)
MP: $24.46 (489 bb)
MP+1: $22.83 (457 bb)
CO: $2.38 (48 bb)
BU: $5.56 (111 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.30) Hero is UTG with Q♦ A♦
Hero calls $0.05, MP calls $0.05, MP+1 calls $0.05, CO calls $0.05, BTN checks

Flop: ($0.50) T♦ A♠ Q♥ (5 players)
Hero bets $0.48, MP folds, MP+1 raises to $22.73 (all-in), CO calls $2.28 (all-in), BU folds, Hero calls $6.05 (all-in)

Spoiler

Turn: ($15.84) 9♠ (3 players, 3 all-in)

River: ($15.84) 6♠ (3 players, 3 all-in)

Total pot: $15.84 (Rake: $6.69)

Showdown:
MP+1 shows K♦ J♥ (a straight, Ten to Ace (pot not awarded as player cashed out))
UTG (Hero) shows Q♦ A♦ (two pair, Aces and Queens)
CO shows T♠ T♥ (three of a kind, Tens)
MP+1 wins $9.15

Actually by reviewing this hand I now see it's not a flip because CO isn't full stacked. By pot odds i would need 121a/(195a+121a) = 38% and my equity here is 30%. In game just made the call because I thougt in MW pot I always have enough equity.

Conclusion
Think it over even if you think it's a clear cut call/fold/raise.

So after dropping more than 30Bi hopefully we're back on our way up:

:spade: No internet or phone during session
:spade: Keep focus by thinking and speaking out the actions and why
:spade: Keep to the ranges and don't overadjust

Team short deck go go go

I am so guilty of trying to multi-task.
When playing short deck I play only a single table, and try to talk out the hand as it plays out.
I have a bad habit of "bluff catching" with insufficient strength — and it seems to be worse with short deck.

Don't get me wrong, it's not like there's something bad with it, it's just like PLO for me. I personally find it hard to figure if my hand is the best in the situation, and it would cause a much bigger variance for me best case, or I would lose even.

I also really love the FL games, but I don't do them, because when I used to, I always won small pots and lose big ones. In my opinion finding the games that fit you is one of the most important things to become a winning player.

I quite agree,
When I was in my teens, we would flip coins for dollars — Each player flipped a coin, and the winner got to call the next round.
The call would be "even" or "odd" — so it it was either two heads or two tails even wins — otherwise odd wins.

My point is that PLO and shortdeck are like that — the equities are so close you're flipping coins for stacks.
But the big difference is that the odds are close but not 50/50.
If you get it in good more than half the time, you'll win long term.

I understand but obv with any form of poker you'll have variance. It's the games with more variance that attracts the gamblers. But for me it's also about having fun and big hands more of the time.

Because stars can't fix the HH problem I can't post graph because results are to far off. I am big up so it's semi ok :)

I also moved up because the traffic at NL5 was very weak in the hours I play. I couldn't start a 2nd table. First session I was up 4BI and decided to stay at the stake but move down when I lose my winnings. Atm i'm up around 15BI:

Those were some fine hands - if there are never any with the outcome the other way around you'd be through the challenge in a breeze!

NL10 so far so good

Still keeping up my rungood :f_cool:

Afther a few weeks in the old schedule this will be implemented as of tomorrow:

I will play only at night and drastically upscale my study time (before I go back to my EV line... ).
There will be a lot of playing around with oRanges6+ and review every hand played.

Hands will be posted on the 6+ discord SixPlusHoldEm

Not sure if I can post link here, if not please remove.

That link should be fine.
If you're ever wondering you can usually find out what's acceptable in our forum principles

I need to get oRange — just been too busy lately to even think about playing...
