AJs w/ TP on the flop, facing big river bet

Nasty spot indeed. 3bet pre is fine. Cbet on the flop is fine, sizing is fine. I like your check behind on the turn. On the river... The problem here is that you dont beat much of his value range AT, KJ,TT beat you. You beat only weaker overplayed ace or a bluff. Still it's nl2. I will have really hard time to give up my TP so i probably will broke here

I think its more board for small bet but 1/2 is also ok. On river i'm turbomucking this. People dont use this line as bluff and also he would need to turn KQ or QJ into bluff which I doubt he will ever think about.

Seems well played I think. Against some villains you can make a thin value bet on the turn, but only against loose passive villains.

River is a easy fold against a over bet I think.

All streets is played good, maybe would be better bet on the turn too.
River - Fold, you have to call pot size+, only if you had info he could bet on the river after turn check/check with no value hand than call or call it the river bet would be smaller.

Wouldn't go any more than 3x on BU in this spot.

The flop cbet is fine with A8 and AT being 2 of the hands we wanted to call preflop are now beating us. That leaves us with KK, QQ, JJ and A9s, maybe A5s, A4s, A3s, KTs, QTs, JTs, T9s left in our villains range we can be value betting here.

Some bad draws he could have are QJs, KJs and KQs.

The only good draw he will have here is J9s.

AA, AK, AQ, AKs, AQs, 88 & TT are crushing us.

So as you can see most of his continuing range here we can be value betting is not great. And most of his strong range is dominating us.

I think a 1/3 pot size bet with the J kicker will bring all of those marginal hands into the turn and we lose less to the hands he will be beating us with going forward.

All of the air will just fold anyways.

Checking the turn is fine I guess. Will allow to bluffcatch or bet small on the river IP. Don't want to overplay our marginal made hand and J9, QT & KJ just got there too. We're drawing dead to QQ and AQ now.

Overbet on the river by loose passive who likes to go to a lot of cheap showdowns (25% WTSD is high) usually means nuts.

Would probably fold here.
