That was an enjoyable read! Can definitely relate to your process, especially now that I'm back from a long break & re-learning cash game from the ground up.
Will definitely tune in tonight! What's the discord link as well?

Just so comfortable not to produce content when you are a streamer. As I probably mentioned before, streaming itself costs you a hell lot of time, not just the process itself, but all the preparations and afterwork. Talking about making layouts, editing thumbnails, downloading and analyzing hand history stuff, trying to act like a pro in premiere pro and photoshop, try to start all social media platform and actually realizing that it is such a hard job... and if you don't do these, study, check ranges, listen to books, videos, podcasts. Never forget your family of course!See you LIVE tonight:
Hi Smushed,
I sure agree about the time cost of streaming. I stopped over a year ago — there was too much going on IRL to make it possible.
I just followed you so perhaps I can catch the next one.
If you haven't done so already, be sure to post in this thread: https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=3035095#post3035095 so others can find your stream

Hey Vorpal,
I did catch you one of two times streaming back in the days!
It is a challenging thing to do yes, but I guess everything that you take seriously will affect your IRL, be it sports, arts, or any other obsession. We are just people and have to learn how things work out the best.
I will post in the forum you linked.
Cheers!
Yesterday was a very special day. I think I tilted. But I want to go a bit deeper why that happened, how I felt, and how and when I overcame it.
I had a super start of the session, basically was up 5 buy ins in 600 hands, when I get to face a villain 300 effective. I was really focusing on bluff spots, so I decided to make an incredible though spot for him on the river.
Please check the picture for the hand history:
Why did I chose this line?
First of all, 5 BB 3bet was ridiculously low as a 3bet, so there is basically no reason to fold any of your range, of course you could 4bet, but I chose to call, and I said we can attack when there is a low runout. Which eventually came, and we started with a xr, since the board was already suitable to rep all the sets and the straight. Chose to overbet the turn, for max pressure and to be able to move in on river when runout is good. And the 10 was nice to have, and he will mostly have overpairs here of course. So I did the move and went all in. This was the spot where he actually began to think. Not before of course, he was calling easily on each street. Then the seconds went by, time bank usage started, up to the last seconds. We basically waited like 80 secs. Right until my stream got to the spot (3 min delay) where my hand was visible, I could see it live unfortunately . And voila, he got the snapcall!
I was really frustrated and could hardly believe this happened. And of course it is not about the 15$ that would make me angry, but that it was possible to stream snipe me, and my hands were tied and couldn't do anything there.
Got angry, started to play off focus, was missing spots, continuously complaining about how could he do this. So I ended up from having 5 BI + session to have -4 at the end. There were some bad runouts, not much I could do, but did call or was more aggressive in unnecessary spots.
The fact that he was stream sniping or not is irrelevant. It would not change anything if we knew he made that. But you are simply to blind to see. Bad sportsmanship is something I really don't like. But this does not change the fact it drove me into tilting.
Eventually I stopped the stream with a bad mood and 4 buy in gross loss. After that I was just playing some chess, not really focusing anymore on poker. But it did disturb me of course, so after 5 hours of sleep I wanted to get rid of this. I woke up, and sat on the carpet. I gathered every thought I learned about meditation and started to relax myself. I think one of the most challenging things to meditate about is anger. From what I learned you should analyze the surroundings, feel the noises, take a couple of deep breaths and then close you eyes. Then the journey begins where you should think about the person you are angry at, try to be around him a bit, watch what you are feeling when you are there, observe hes mimics. Then comes the hardest part. You should envision him when he is happy, and try to understand that he is also a human person. Then you should take this picture with you and let the anger go. I also feel necessary to get into an interaction with this picture. So my vision was the following: I imaged this guy as a rather young around his 25s Russian guy, sitting at a pub, and telling his friends about this hand, bragging about that the streamer was so stupid he could check his hand and then click call easily. Everyone was laughing, and I realized I am one of the people sitting at the table. I felt that actually he has a point there, and it is truly a good story to tell others. So I could finally see myself also smiling a bit. So I stood up, I gave him my hand and said: "Hah, damn I was all angry about you, but you know you have a point there. At least I learned something from this and I will prolong my stream 1 more minute (and not 2, what my first reaction was, coming from anger). I gave him a hand he shook it, did not say a word, we were just smiling, and I took off the place. When I opened my eyes I already felt a lot better.
I know this sounds a bit funny, or fictional, but actually everything you feel comes from your head. So exercising you mind is a very powerful thing to do. I also learned that it is very nice to start your day with 20 minutes of meditating, it just gives you more control of your life, let's your body to wake up, etc. So in the end, one more weapon in my arsenal that will help me to fight my way onto my goals.
Probably not what is wanted but don't go for that kind of bluffs you did with KQ. Aim to either have some strong outs or some form of blocker value. That way you also limit the amount of bluffs you have. More sensible combo could have been like A5s with bd fd.
So it might be that your focus on bluff spots made you over do it.

That is 100% true and can not argue. I probably even got overconfident also. But I was also saying on stream, I am ok if he calls with AA or KK, but not after my hands went live on stream.
However, I feel the river shove would consist like half of my range here. Either for value or bluff. Like this:
The closest sim I got here was a 200BB one, and shows the following for villian, facing my TURN OB:
I think beeing 300 deep just makes like 95% of his 3b range should fold if we shove. Of course the question is if I don't manage to make him fold on the turn is there enough value here.
I still think at this pot size, if you shove the 100% of your range it should be profitable in the long run against hes 3betting range. Superior suited hands would be the heart ones because you unblock all backdoor draws.
Just to make it clear:
Villain should fold the AA, EXCEPT if you see your enemy bluffing LIVE. 😅

No-one said I was playing against a whale. He had a normal 20ish VPIP, PFR.
Can you tell us why we don't want to play like PIO against whales?
Thanks for the good lucks!

I would not trust GG's stats!!
He made a small 3b whilst u were extreme deep and it is nl5: means he is a weak player!
I want to maximize my EV vs weak players and not trying to be balanced.
One of most common leaks is tendency to be unable to fold mediocre made hands versus big aggression in small stakes games. Or in general with recreational players from my experience in other formats.
Doesn't mean we cannot do bluffs but we should be imo very selective with big bluffs without good reads.
PS: Thought process in this hand from villain could very easily be: "Oh man he probably has set but I have ACES... Call!". This tendency is often called "falling in love" with hand. You get aces preflop, the best hand possible, board gets ugly but player just can't fold.

Sorry to say, you have clearly limited understanding of how balancing a range and maximizing EV refer to one another. I recommend you go and look up a basic game, like the clairvoyance game.
I mainly stopped to write blogs because I get some poor, or very exxagerated information posted in the blog, making it a forum war instead of a blog.
Why are you basing your thoughts on that this guy is a recreational player? Tell me! Because he is playing NL5? And then he can only be recreational? Do you think I am also recreational? Do you think people don't watch Twitch and learn from others? Do you think people can't even improve? The theory of falling in love with a hand can not be generalized to all players, but it doesn't even matter, coz in the long run he would gladly pay out all my sets and straights, two pairs, because he keeps calling, and then saying "I knew I should fold, but I have AA so I call... Of course he has a set, fucking idiot". I will maximum bluff less in that spot, but never give up all my bluffs for sure.
You all totally blew up 1 situation, overriding the possibility he could stream snipe, everything I said about tilt, and how to handle it. Not caring about a fact that I can state I made a mistake. Not caring about when one goes after a solution. These are all very very very important things that a good poker player should have. Like 100x more important then to know what the theory of falling in love with a hand is.
hi!
haven't said u r a fish or anything like similar so u can chill down! i know u were playing way higher stakes.
i hope u do not go this easy on tilt at the tables.
"I will maximum bluff less in that spot" - u stating one thing but did the opposite (overbluffing).
anyway i hope u learned from this case and make the proper delay to avoid similar shenanigans. i wish u the best with the challenge and your life.
i will not bother u with my useless opinions in the future.
cheers!

What I said was accurate. After running into a spot like this I will definitely tighten my range a bit, probably just get rid of KQo preflop, etc.
I never said you should not post anymore, what I however ask from every person that posts here, to be growth minded and never stick to one narrow problem. Take a step back and try to see the whole picture. Poker is a very complex thing, so stop being narrow-visioned. Alas, if you post your opinion, try to post a reflection of all the spots stated, not just one.
Thank you!
Hello!
Time to make an update. There are new things evolving around the challenge.
- We are at a total profit of 822$ so far, closing up to 200k hands in the challenge. 306 hours were streamed so far!
- Very happy to announce: 5 people are joining me in this journey and starting to do the challenge on NL2. They will be provided with every document I have, also we will basically make a study group, have trainings together. It is planned that our progress (including mine) will be reachable online for everyone. Growing together will really make the breakthrough I believe.
- I am very happy to see healthy stats on my stream. Close to 300 followers but average viewers number are around 10 now. Also, 15 members on Discord, but 5 are super active and doing the challenge. For me it is really important to keep my stream bot free, and only reaching the audience that is really interested. Not buying any services, etc.
- The goal of the challenge is now set to 5 years (Reach $250.000 Bankroll). Meaning an average on ~2000 hands on a day. Much more realistic when you have a family and job.
- We had some hard times lately, still only at 24% on NL5, had super bad runouts lately. Also must admit, playing after 10-12 hours of work is super hard.
- The stream is feeling like coming to an expanding problem. I can barely get new followers, this needs more adjustments, I would love to get some help from the readers in which channels I could go, where I could find people who are interested in this bankroll challenge.
- I have problems with Youtube, Because of the background music makes copyright problems and evetually a video gets banned in all countries. Anyone having an idea how to cut background music, free of course?
- Gonna start posting on Insta and TikTok concerning the challenge. But need to work out a plan before. Have it in my head, but technically it challenging and takes time.
Have a fun day, if you like join the stream, drop a follow and turn on notifications:
